    Re: I am back

Hey Carolyn, Welcome back...Day 1 on induction!...Sounds like you are getting back up on the horse to RIDE... Are you a serious weight trainer? Will you be lifting again, if so, have you made a thoughtful plan how to best handle the demands for food that serious weight lifting will call for?
There are all sorts of wonderful people here at STAC, we are slow on the weekends, but we check in regularly in the day, and share our lives, thoughts, and different facets of what we are dealing with, our second time around...Most all of us, ask our selves alot of questions about what we did right and what we did wrong "last time"...and what brought us down...for some it was foods, cheating, triggers, poor planning, boredom, never having followed it strictly so as to get the right results...

What will you do differently this time? Are you excited to be here starting over, knowing this program works for you...

Yea i was very serious about it.. Surprise low carb is the way up for weight training... My boo boo was the bread ect... From a 142 lbs to now 159.2 lbs. My goal is 135 lbs. I do not lift weights anymore. I just got bored at the gym. I work long long hours and took my nephew in for the school year. I do Turbo jam and injoy it very much. Re: I am back

Carolyn--I did the same thing. Well I wasn't weight training, but I was working out a lot--kickboxing, yoga, pilates, running, spinning, dancing, toning, etc. About 6 days a week. I kept adding carbs in until I was basically eating the same crap as before, but my exercise kept me on the losing track. I had lost about 70 lb. but I started gaining when a really busy schedule stressed me out and prevented me from exercising more than 2x a week, and I ate WAY more. I let myself slide until this August when I finally realized how much I missed atkins and the way it made me feel.

Long story short--I know how you feel, and I'm glad that you're back! You will do a great job, now that you can learn from past mistakes. )

            Re: I am back

Welcome back! Today is my first day "back" again too. I fell off the wagon and have regained 22 lbs - yuck! I moved back in June and it went downhill from there. Having to live with my boyfriend who can eat anything he wants (thank God, he doesn't "care for" bread) and too with my long commute, exercise fell out of the plan -- and here I am again. My BIGGEST mistake was stopping my addiction to this Board by giving it up as my "daily bread" (no pun intended). I'm back to stay - I pray! Good luck to you and me!

P.S. I LOVE lifting weights, too! And I miss it.

              Day 2 :
Yep that is the way it went. Worked out then added carbs and more carbs till i got readdicted to them, Then had to cut back on excersise. Then all ***** broke loose. I knew it from the start i was slowly falling off the wagon but i think i wanted to see if i could be like mr and mrs everybody. Well NO I CAN NOT. on the bright side i saw that this carb thing is a prob for me. I lost my father last year and that really put me down. I miss him soo darn much. I also caught this virous last week that really put me down that i still have in my system. I am tiered and have trouble staying awake. That is what really oped my eyes. I started to cut back on calories and found myself starving myself and still gaining weight. I then remembered Atkins and how i felt sooo good and i did not get sick because we ate when we were hungry.

All in all day 1 went great. I even feel alittle more awake this morning. Yea i know that 1 day can not change my life , but one day it all it takes for a new beggining.

Ya'll are doing fantastically, it's good to see what went wrong before and a good many of us get pretty sobered up about our carb addictions...or some of us still think we can "play with it" and have it all...Well, all I can speak for is, me and I know I can't have it all, I need to stay free and clear of sugars and carbs and processed foods...I am great away from them, and don't want to go back there.
So, someone is feeling MORE AWAKE today, hmmm what could that be??? A sugar free day, can do that for you!

                    Re: I am back

Its good to hear that you both came back. Atkins is something I think we all enjoyed but once you get that weight off and you do not follow through it comes right back.

Day 1 and Day 2 where the easy for me when I came back. It was Day 7 - 9 that started kicking my tail. It reminds me of something Justin (my little brother) told me: "Pain is Weakness Leaving the body". When it comes to the cravings I always remember that.

welcome back carolyn! you're sure in the right place. I've done that with the exercise, it's a tricky thing to count on exercise to keep you slim, since the minute you get bored/busy it's allll over.

                        Re: I am back

your o sooo right knicknack. We work out like animals then we get bored and start going less and less ( or time is an issue) Then the pounds start rolling back on. You can not only think that exercise is the key to every thing. I am sure now you have to do both. Excerise and your way of eating.

Today is Day 7 for me...Yes I have made it cheat free. Today i weight myself and i am down to 154.2.. I am very happy about the result. it is a big 5 lbs. . I am also back in the game. I am alot less tiered and feel great. So here i am 5 pounds dropped. curious to see next week. I will start to add my Turbo Jam this week. Not to much because of the way i was feeling last week. I still have to fight with the water issue. I have to drink more.
