Hey all you newbie STACers, introduce yourself, as you check into and make it a great day...Hey all you old timers, introduce yourself here all over again, and let's increase the community feel for the newbies...

Ok, me first, I am Jessica, that's my real name behind the Outback Jess name. I am almost 50 and I am out to change my life for the better. I am on day 76 of Atkins. I have lost a good bit of weight, but that's not as important as recoverying a balanced life, that has good exercise and activities in it, 100 oz of water! and eating right. I love it here at STAC, and the boards. I am an encourager and a motivator by gifting... and I will always try and bring a fresh positive to the journey, as they cross my path!

    Re: Sunday morning check in

Good Sunday morning everyone. I'm mostly recovered other than a few twinges, so today I star back excercising. Which is good because I feel like a slug. I've survived a cruise, a sudden death in the family, my son's birthday week (several parties) and a funeral coming up this next weekend. Without cheating. I've thought about it... hard. I've even had stuff in my hand once or twice before I put it down. But still I hang on . And the reality is, the longer I hang on the easier it is to do so. I've had help! My wife is doing it with me, not so much because she needs to but rather because she's being supportive. And not having to make so many different meals is always easier.

    But let me tell you the real secret.... truffles. Chocolate kind, found in the back of the Atkins book. Make them with Sweetzfree so they have even less carbs. Put them in a container, and eat 1 a day. They're cheap ($5 or so for the whole batch), they taste amazing, and they satisfy any need I have for sweets, desert, etc;

Good Morning. To introduce myself I guess is easy for me to do.

I am Richard and 22 years old. I have been on atkins on and off for almost a year. This time around I have stuck through for 2 months now. I don't feel I have lost a lot of weight but my wife says other wise. I am trying to lose the weight to so I can join the US Marine Core and prove a point to my brother that whatever he can do I can do better. I think thats about it as far as me.

        Morning!

I am Julie, and I'm 25 years old. This is my second time around (duh) and I am determined to make it my last--meaning I will stick with this for the rest of my life. Originally I started in March 2003, lost 70lb. and gradually fell of the plan. I restarted on August 17, 2006, 15-20 pounds heavier than I'd started before, and so far I have lost 31lb.

I'm really happy to be feeling healthy and leaner again! I don't have a desire to "cheat" with off-limits foods like candy or cookies or chips--I guess I'm a cheating nerd. Sometimes it's so tempting to have one more serving of cheese, or pumpkin instead of my salad veggies. But I don't give in!

I exercise at least 5 times a week, doing elliptical, weight training, running, walking, swimming, and water aerobics, and I make sure to give myself at least one "off" day.

Oh and I love this board! I am constantly learning new information or good tips, and it's so nice to have such a supportive group to answer questions or give opinions!

Today I'm going for a long walk (4+miles) with my boyfriend, if we don't freeze to death...the temp has been steadily dropping and we're not quite acclimated yet!

        Have a good Sunday!

Hi im a newbie too. I did atkins about 2 years and i lost 20lbs and gained back 30! This time around im making it a priority to cook different meals so that im not eating the same thing all the time and then get bored and start cheating. Im losing weight slowly but i rather that than losing it way too fast and gaining it back plus more.

            Re: Sunday morning check in

I am really curious as to what made some people come back to it. I know that we list the weight we gained when we turned around. One of the things I myself have found is that I wanted to was join the US Marines. If I feel myself ready to cheat I always put in 3 different dvds and watch them. If I don't get re motivated from them then I will cheat. But I have never had that problem. Tammy will tell you I love watching the US Marines recurit training. She sometimes thinks I am weird because I tell her it looks like fun.

My suggestion is that if you have something that you want to do when you get to goal weight when your going to cheat you try and go do it. Is that cheat WORTH losing the fact that you won't get to that sooner? For me I need to lose 178 pounds. I want to do that in a year and a half. If I cheat even once it might as well be 2 years and thats to long for me.

Hi, my name is Lynne and I am a real Charter Member of STAC. (LOL It was my idea and the one that I am most proud of and in need of most)
My weight loss has been slow but one pound at a time works for me.
I think the reason we Come back to it is because IT WORKS and we know IT WORKs. We come back to it because THE FOOD IS BETTER THAN LOW FAT...And we come back to it because we have this board for support.
Happy Sunday everyone. I hope this day brings you a pound closer to your goal

              41 pounds down and counting

I knew you have longevity, but you thought the STAC up....that's great Lynne.
Good to have you over seeing things here...
I come back because the food is good, I don't feel like I am on a diet, I like bacon, meats, mayo, butter and cream a bit more than sugary stuff...
i am 'together" on this plan... really together.

Hi! My name is Trina. I am a newbie to this forum but I have posted a couple of times in the Century Club mainly because thats where I used to post when I tried this last time! I dropped out last time due to emotional eating. I restarted because I really need to get back to eating healthy and shed alot of pounds! Plus, the time is right! Meaning I am in a place emotionally that I can do this without sabotaging myself.

                      Hi Everyone!
I'm Jamie and I WAS a carbaholic. I'm 29yrs of age and working toward a better life. I did Atkins a few years back and lost quite a bit. In that stage I was only in it for the weight loss, so off the wagon I fell. Now I'm a few days shy of my 1 month on Atkins this STA. I'm eating better, sleeping better, LIVING BETTER!!! I've lost 13lbs so far, and maybe more, but I can't check until the Weigh, No Way challenge is over next week! I ask questions and receive wonderful feedback. I also try to help out others that have questions that I've been through! I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Hi, I'm Dee and I'm new to this site I have posted in the spotlight forum, but anyway, I'm a 32y/o SAHM of 5 (4 girls and a boy aged 10, 8, 4, 2 and 4 months) I was a Registered Nurse but I now have way too many kids, lol, so I gave it up for a while so I can watch my children grow instead. I live in a tiny town in Central Queensland, Australia (pop. 2300). My reason to come back is because I'm fat and I know this works, I want to go swimming with the kids and not be embarressed to swim. I was a skinny child and Teenager and young adult but in the last 7-8 years I've really packed it on. But this is changing, No more excuses.
