  • Fantastic Friday!

Where are our daily check in posts? Everyone is cooking breakfast?

It's gonna be a fantastic day! I can just feel it. I've got my water, there is a fresh nip in the air, and it's FRIDAY!

Nothing is planned for the weekend, but I do need to get the H'ween goody bags made. I've been putting it off because I just don't want the candy in the house. the candy don't bother me as much as the wrappers left on the table, the table beside the couch and the ones that they "accidentally missed" while trying to toss them in the trash! argh! I may wait until next Wednesday to get the candy and assemble goodie bags. This weekend I want to do something FUN.

    What's the weekend plans?

        Re: Fantastic Friday!

Did the weight come on because of TOM? Have you recently started exercising? Have you had pinch of this and that here and there? Stress in your life??

All of the above can trigger a gain. I use to gain 7 pounds with TOM. Now I put on 2 to 3. It comes off.. eventually. Sometimes up to 3 days AFTER TOM is gone. That's just me.

Exercising builds muscle. Putting on muscle can make the scale go up and the inches go down. It will eventually even out.

Pinch of this and that.. well.. that will make you gain.

Stress? You are packing for a move! Yah, that's stressful. Stress will do all kinds of things to your body!

Are you getting in your water? If not, your body will actually HOLD water (I think that's why I only gain 2-3 with TOM now, I drink all my water).

Just remember.. if you are doing everything by the book, the weight WILL come off. Drink, eat, exercise all according to plan and don't weigh every day. (something I'm working at!) The scale bobs up and down all the time. Every day is different.

Be true to Atkins and Atkins will be true to you!

Hang in there. don't let that scale rule you!

          Stickin--I feel your pain.
I weighed in today, and I'm only down 1lb. from last week, but I am satisfied with that, happy to have lost and not gained. I am smack-dab-in-the-middle of TOM and I know I'd gained AT LEAST 5lb. since Tuesday night, but I am not sure how much of that has come off yet. I am just looking forward to next Friday, with a bigger loss, knowing that by then my TOM weight will come off, as well as a little extra! And yes, I've been exercising regularly (that really helps minimize cramping, etc. for me) AND drinking LOTS of water! Sorry if this is too much info, but this is a REALLY heavy TOM, so I think that's why I'm feeling the effects so much.

Jess--yum, what kind of weekend foods did you pick up? I need some ideas--Friday is grocery day!

Rachel--forget the candy, do something fun! The candy can wait...

          EVERYONE--Have a wonderful Friday....yay it's the weekend!!

My boyfriend and I are going shopping on Sunday in Great Falls--it's the closest "big" city to us (a "big" city in Montana is 55,000 people--ridiculous, huh?), so we're making a day of it. I'm going to buy a pair of pants that I will be able to wear in a couple weeks, and I'm excited to check out a GOOD produce section and visit some health food stores for some specialty items.

          I'm excited for the weekend!

Hi, everyone. New to the board and wanting to join the gang. I've tried this before and it always works and then I just go back to eating the way I always do. I love my PASTA!! I am know on my second day of induction and lost three pounds. I just joined the virtual building challenge and asked some advise if I should also join the crunch challenge. I am so afraid that if I try to do too much too quickly I'll fail at it all. Any way, loving this site and all the encourgement!!

The "big city" huh? Sounds fun! We live outside the city limits so "going to town" is almost a special event - really a social event as we see lots of people we know. I try to avoid town as much as possible, doing most of my running around on weekends. I enjoy getting dressed up and going into town now. New jeans!? How fun! I'm thrilled to be wearing my button/zip jeans. Are you going for a special brand or just looking? I've discovered the low rise jeans are heaven for those of use thicker in the middle gals - stops that "muffin top" roll.

Listen to me.. all excited about fashion?? omgosh, what's happening to me? I think I use to be such a tomboy because it was easier! Now I'm having fun!

Nothing too exciting for me this weekend. The boyfriend and I are going to go see "The History Boys" tonight. I'm not sure if that's just playing in the UK or not. We're also going to go tour St. Paul's Cathedral this weekend. Oh, and of course, laundry day tomorrow (I miss, miss, miss my washer and dryer back in Oregon - laundromats are horrible, but at least I can read a book).

Good morning everyone! I am checking in here. If I don't get a move on, I'm going to be late. Be back later to read and check in again. (I would stay home and be here at ADBB. )

Hey, GI! Welcome! It's hard to say .. I went back and forth on joining a challenge or two myself. I'm a do it all or dont do it at all kinda person and felt like if I committed and didn't meet the challenge then I was a failure.

I finally decided I would do my best and call it MY BEST. But I would honestly give it my best shot. Goals keep us striving to be better.

So this time I went for it.. and this time it is working to help keep me motivated. I guess it's just on how you look at it.

Let us know what you decide and again welcome!
