Does anyone else have cheat-filled dreams? I wake up feeling sooooooo guilty...and I didn't even really do it!!! Last night (in my dream) I ate at McDonalds and had a Lg fry. I realized what I was doing and spit the fries in my mouth out. (Like that would have really helped) and THEN I had those little Debbie Mini-muffins for dessert!!!!! Sheeesh! In real life I don't even crave that kind of stuff anymore. Evil Evil dreams, must be the boogie-carb-man. Anyone else have these kind of dreams? Please share what yours are about!!!

Re: Haunted Dreams
Oh yah! I dreamed I ate wedding cake. A huge corner piece and I could feel the creamy icing on my tongue and the roof of my mouth and the smell.. oh the smell! The icing was at that firm/hard stage where the outside is a thin layer of hard but once you crack that the inside was soft and sugary and creamy..
Let me tell you.. it took a good while after I woke up to realize that WAS just a dream. I figured it was so darn good in the dream that I had already had the best parts of the icing without the sugar, carbs or calories LOL
Since then, I really don't dream about food.

Re: Haunted Dreams
Hi Jamie,
I have not had any cheat dreams this time around...yet. I did have one where I was trying to get to the store before they closed to get a roast to make a legal pot roast... if I told you the things I did to get there
LOL Last time I was on this woe, I did have a "cheat" dream... I ate Mom's mac n cheese and brownies and when I woke up, I was SO depressed!!!
Hope I do not have any more of those...they are horrible!
Hang in there...they should go away
Have a great weekend!F 32 5'7"

Re: Haunted Dreams
Yes, So I'm not the only one.
I've had several since my restart of Atkins. I don't remember them exactly as far as the foods go, but I am always thinner and either have eaten the wrong foods and wished I hadn't, or am telling myself not to eat it, but the food it is placed before me. These dreams leave me with a guilty feeling when I wake from them.

Re: Haunted Dreams
I have those dreams like 3 nights a week, and I don't even want the food I'm eating in the dream! Very similar to your experience...I'll be eating dinner with my boyfriend and not paying attention to what I'm eating, when suddenly I look down and I've been eating french fries or spaghettie or an ice cream sundae. Except in my dreams I start bawling, I mean crying my eyes out!
I woke my boyfriend up one night because I was actually crying in my sleep--he thought I was kind of nuts when he asked me what was wrong--I sobbed "I was eating a potato!"
Everyone keeps saying they'll go away, and here I am, 9 weeks in, and I STILL have them! Maybe I'm a late bloomer? Either way, hang in there kid, I know how you feel!START 8/16/06 @ 270+~MG1: 220-12/2/06~MG2: 210-1/07~MG3: 199-3/2/07~MG4: 190-4/27/07~MG5: 180-7/04/07~GOAL: 170

Re: Haunted Dreams
It's so funny that you mentioned this. I had many of them while trying to reach my goal weight and I have to admit they were pretty bad. The thing is.. It wasnt really about me wanting to eat an item, but more of a fear for me of loosing control/power of what I put into my body. I'm not sure if that makes any sense, but I would wake up and feel like I failed myself.
I am the type of person who when puts her mind to do something, I do it cold turkey. I try to prove to myself that I have the control and faith in myself to make it happen. Now that I have reached my goal, those dreams have stopped.

Re: Haunted Dreams
Shashie,
Congrats on reaching goal. I hope your dreams and goals don't stop now. It's so important to always have goals and dreams. Make some new ones.. more time reading, more time in prayer, learning a new craft or taking on a new hobby, less time in front of tv.. .. etc.
Goal.. how does that feel to have reached that goal??

Re: Haunted Dreams
RachelnLa,
Thanks for the gratz. Goal feels nice, it gives me a feel of self worth, the feeling that I have control over my body and what goes into it. During this WOE I have learned so many things, it wasn't just about loosing the weight. It was about taking/making time for myself, to be who I feel I deserve to be. Happy if you will, instead of worrying about everyone but me for a change. I find myself to be more girly now, taking time to put on my make up before going out the door, putting on a nice clothes without hiding myself or putting myself down because of how my clothes fit. I am still struggling with a few issues, as I look at my body I see the same me sometimes +40 lbs ago, but I know that is a mental picture and it gives me drive to maintain my weight. I am trying to work more on muscle tone and such now. My goals have not ended, as you stated they are an ongoing thing, its about making new ones.
I wish you all the best of luck in reaching goal, you are all certainly worthy of it. Keep up the good work and believe in yourself !
