  • hardboiled eggs??

This is just a quickie questiuon....
I boiled some eggs about 2 weeks ago & put them in my fridge. Of course I forgot they were up there on the top shelf. What's the shelf life on these? Are they still good? I was going to make my deviled eggs with them but I'm nervous to even break them open....

From everything I've read, they should be used within one week.

I agree, I would throw them out after a week.

If they are not cracked they might be fine. Sometimes I did the same and have found them OK after more than a week.

Try peeling and cutting one in half and see if it looks and smells OK.

I'm late for your eggs Zelda, LOL, but I saw a show on tv years ago, like 20/20 or 60 minutes, and it showed what goes on with eggs, and the main message was not ever to use the eggs even one day past the expiration date. They told of certain chain stores who have their own egg companies and other egg companies, and how they DO take them back to the egg "factory" when they hit the expiration date and pick through them, re-wash them, and make them look all nice and pretty again. Then they are repackaged with a new expiration date, and then off to market AGAIN. So this is TV, but still I remember having the "flu" at Easter several times...those Easter eggs we dyed and hid in the grass, and then we ate them in sandwiches for weeks. Yikes! LOL
