  • Tuesday Check In!!!

I didn't see Outback Jess or a Tuesday Check In so I guess I'll start one!

It's cold here in Montana, and getting colder! I envy those of you who live in warmer climates, and I know I will really envy you when it's 30-!

Hope all of you have a good Tuesday...what is your goal for today? Doesn't have to be big or small, just something you'd like to accomplish.

My goal for today is to drink all my water and to eat my 4 cups of veggies!

    HAVE A GREAT DAY!

    Re: Tuesday Check In!!!

Thanks for doing it Juli! I kept looking and looking and thinking something was missing but couldn't put a finger on it!

I have been giving lots of thoughts to goals since achieving the no weight challenge and the exercise challenge for October. I'm striving to do the no weigh challenge until November 1 and so far so good! I have not even thought of weighing. Exercise - I've made my own goal to exercise every day (minus weekends) until November 1. So far so good there too.

Next month my goal will be to plan foods for Tgiving that are legal for ME! My family gets together and we all contribute to the meal. I always cook an entire meal for my own family so we can have leftovers.. so I'll make all my own fav dishes

Long-term goal is to look/feel good for a wedding in March!

Morning all.. still around . Survived the funeral relatively intact, although I'm stalled a bit. Had some low carb dairy products (yogurt, ice cream) and I think I may have to skip them. Ah well. DOwn 49 pounds, hovering for the magic 50 number.

            Re: Tuesday Check In!!!

Jess, 1rst I love your new pic!!! You look fabulous!!!

Juli is the one that joined the gym...
I have a treadmill at home... I also have a stability ball. I am in both the mileage and pushup challenges (doing much better on the pushup one). I know I should not be discouraged... We are moving in 3 weeks and I have not exercised as much I would like to. I am hoping once we make the move, I will be able to get my life back into some sort of normalcy (whatever that may be)! Just need to hang on til then...the good news is I do not want to stray! But I was so excited to lose the 16, then to put back on 4 and now only lose 1 That means now, I have only lost 13!!! I hate backtracking...

Okay, enough whining from me... the weather is beautiful here today Irst day in 6 months that the temp is below 80! WOOHOO

              Re: Tuesday Check In!!!

Stickin--you are amazing to keep up the good work and exercise during the time before a move. I was so tired when my boyfriend and I moved last year that I did absolutely nothing for about a month, except eat cheeseburgers and fries. Oh yeah, and maybe some pizza. Kudos to you!

Jess--I joined the gym and I love it--went to Boot Camp class last night and I thought I was going to pass out. I will definitely be going back next week--if that won't help me lose weight, I don't know what will.

                Re: Tuesday Check In!!!

Stickit, you hang in there girl, and keep you head down, I'm telling ya and just keep to the plan, stay away from Over-scaling-IT! they are what frustrate you and discourage you, if you stay away and just allow yourself to feel the daily noise of a body shrinking...
See let me "get off on this a second"...The scales MAKE NOISE! The number pops up and right into our brains and starts banging around...if its a good number the sound is sweet, and we come back and chekc it "later"...
If the sound is off, or disappointing, we can't hear anything else, our attention is taken and a flood of emotions come into our happy day and ruin it...But, if you stay away from the scales you will have naturally happy healthy feeling days, and even days where you feel "fat" or you are sure you are retaining water...that's normal, WHO WANTS THAT CONFIRMED...then there are days where you just FEEL GREAT and THIN...I've learned I'd rather go with the feeling rather than the fact! Maybe nothing has happened literally on the scales but I feel thinner...
I've learned there are very peaceful and enjoyable days, that get robbed because of a number..
Who knows what those 4 pounds are, but they are not staying there, so what did they do, crushed the enjoyment of the loss....
Keep on keeping on, that's what all the veterans have said to me, and I listened and put the number game away...

Stick it. I pretty much grew up in Winter Park, outside of Orlando...I can truly truly relate to the temp in florida FINALLY dropping to an enjoyable range...What part of Florida are in you and then moving to?

                    Re: Tuesday Check In!!!

                    Jess,

Thank you for the encouragment. I think I am going to tell DH to take the scale to his parents this weekend...then I will not be able to weight until 11/14( day after closing)!!!!

Right now, we live in Miami. And we are moving close to Vero. Big changes ahead for me... new town, new job, 3 miles from the in-laws... gonna be very interesting to say the least!

But the neighborhood is really nice, very family oriented, quiet. Can't wait to start roller blading again... then I can get those miles in I even asked for new ones for Xmas...

And you know, you are close to my parents...they live in Dalonega!!!

And thank you for keeping my head on straight! NO MORE EVIL SCALE!!!

                      Re: Tuesday Check In!!!

                      HI everyone!

Paul, Good to have you back. Missed you! That's so wonderful...49 lbs!

Rachel, You're right. It's time to start thinking of legal Thanksgiving food. I'm looking forward to finding recipes.

juli-thanks for reminding me to make a goal of any size. Mine will be to read DANDR so I can move on to the veggie rung soon.

stickin2it, congrats on joining a gym and dong the boot camp there.
I hope your day get brighter for you and you feel better.

Jess, You are doing so good. than you for sharing all of yout thoughts and asking questions. Even when I do not post, I think about them all the time and apply them into my day. Oh, I love your new picture too!

My dad handed me pictures from several months ago from a dinner we went to...my last high carb meal at an Italian restraunt. it was too many carbs for even carbo-loading people. LOL I know I have lost, but seeing that picture really looks different than how I look now, so will put it up as soon as I get some new pics on CD and get that one cropped and scanned somewhere. (my scanner/printer can't be used with my tired computer.) With the Weight no weigh challenge, I am happy that I learned, what you said..."go with the feeling rather than the fact" I feel great. I read where you asked me about what I called hidden sugars in food, on I believe Sunday's post. I should call them hidden carbs, and I think it would make a great thread here for stac. I've got together some information, but now to get on here long enough to compile it to one place.

I'm shaking that off still. I am still strong with Induction and treadmill. I am drinking all my water, 64 oz and not a drop more.

                      Thanks all for being here!

So Babs, how far do you trekk on the treadmill daily? Half an hour, or do you do milage...treadmills are so hard for me.
I am so bad, i do the bike or hike, and lift weights in a cardio circuit type way to get the heart pumping...everything else bugs my body parts...
Treadmills give me shinsplints...deep stepping ellipticals hurt my knees. videos REQUIRE coordinations and intuative knowledge of your limb's lefts and rights, and timing..of which I do not have in my possession... I loved part of Tae Bo, but only forward and backwards, nothing laterally then I get off balance... I so admire those who can join the gym..or do a video or spend time on the treadmill. I read where one girl watched whole movies on a treadmill. I think that was early in my induction and I read it twice having real trouble comprehending such a feat... I may look thinner and sucessful, but girls and Paul and Richard...I'm just a bumbling fat chick trying to get a grip!!!! and having a good time along the way!
