  • A question for those women who have had a baby...

I just had two babies in two years (I know, I am crazy!). I had lost over 70 lbs on Atkins and had kept it off for a year and a half. I was still about 60 from my goal. When I got pregnant, I went off of the diet and gained all of it back and then some. Now I am back on track, and I still have 100 lbs to go after losing more than 40. My question is, did you have a hard time losing weight after a baby than any other time? I feel like I have never worked so hard at it, yet the weight is just creeping off. I had tried Weight Watchers, and it was the same with that. I just feel like the baby weight is so hard to lose! I have heard women say that and thought it was bologna. Any other thoughts or vents?

I know it's hard losing weight after a baby! The hormones, lack of sleep, your body wanting to hoard fat for another baby... I've had four kids, and it does get a little more difficult! The good news is it's not impossible! Hang in there. With Atkins, the great thing is that you can lose weight and not be hungry! The loss might be slow at first, but it will happen. And congratulations on your beautiful little ones!

        Hi Whooshie!

Everyone is different - when I had my son - I lost 21 pounds from morning sickness and then put that on plus 3 pounds during pregnancy. When I gave birth I had a c section and the doctor did a great job of cleaning me out - I lost 30 pounds delivering my son. He was 9 pounds and almost 3 weeks late lol

I agree with what Cleo said - your body going through changes and such - but I also believe that you can lose the weight - just be patient and never give up!

So while I have a child, I don't consider the weight I have baby weight - and I have to tell you - it goes on so much easier then it comes off lol

The good thing, it does come off. There is this quote I read somewhere:

I never said it wasn't going to be hard. I said it would be worth it.

        and it is.
Congratulations on your two little lovies!

Hi Whooshie! I had my son 9 years ago at age 29. The weight melted off of me! I had my daughter 2 years later at age 31 and I kept every single pound that I gained. I questioned the doctor about my weight concerns and he said that my age had everything to do with it! He said that for most women, their metabolism changes around 30. But hang in there...you've lost so much weight already!
