Saturday Check In. Good morning hope everyone has been sleeping in, resting up and has a great day. I am good, cheat free, a bit tired, so I pulled back on the bike and only rode 5 miles rather than went for the 10... I am slowly learning balance...I know when to say yes to 10 miles because I can sense my body is rested and can be pushed and I am beginning to really know when I cannot afford to do that and still have a great deal of energy...I believe this is wisdom forming with in my "go for it, full on personality"...
So, today is going to be balanced..."More does not always HELP" sometimes, pulling back, resting up, scheduling rest time, makes it possible for us to soar tomorrow...Hmmm, I think I am learning that a little at a time here. My husband will be so pleased, He says I burn myself out more than anythign else...

    Re: Saturday Check In

Morning Jess! Looks like we are the only ones up so far... I have to work today so that is why I am up... But today is a great day since it is my last day before VACATION!!!! WooHoo I need some time off from work...between that and getting ready to move, I am burning the candle at both ends... How appropriate you are talking about pulling back and resting up, that is EXACTLY what I am going to be doing this week!!! Yes, I will still be packing but I will not have to squeeze it in around my work schedule. I can sleep in, get "me" errands( haircut, new pair of jeans, etc.) done and pack!!! C'mon 5 o'clock!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

        Hi everyone!

Morning Jess! You are doing so well with your bike riding and also recognizing when to stop in order to prevent burnout. Although mine may be different than yours, I often think of Kenny Roger's song that says, "No when to hold 'em, know when to hold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run..." I have tendencies to not know when to walk away, I hang in there sometimes longer than what I should driven by a feeling I have to prove myself to others, then I burn out afterwards, instead of relaxing a bit, letting go or moving on. But luckily, this is one of my greatest assets with my Atkins' Way of Life. I have amazing drive never to stop, this time around.

For my relaxing time, I do beadwork jewelry. So we may go to town today so I can go to the bead store. It's my new candy store where I can go crazy...and all zero carbs!

Don't forget---- Day light Savings Time--- Set your clock back an hour tomorrow if you do that where you live.

I agree, Jess is The Gambler.

I took a day off from the gym yesterday, decided to give my muscles a rest--I've been working them hard this week. But today I will be going in to do cardio and toning.

Today I'm also supposed to bake cookies for my students, but I'm having a bit of an ethical and financial dilemma with that. Do I give them more sugar that's totally unhealthy? Do I buy something that's non-edible or healthy and go broke doing it? I've got about 250 students.

I'm going to drink my water FO SHO! today. I drank about 5 nalgene bottles yesterday and I double-checked my weight this morning because I had been peeing CONSTANTLY yesterday, and I had lost 2 more pounds!

Got a lot of cleaning to do today, but it's so tempting to read this board for hours, I don't know if I'll get around to it.

            Good morning, all!

I'm just getting to the board, but it's not because I slept late. Actually, I'm surprised that I didn't do so, because I had a pretty sleepless night. I've no idea why, it was just one of those nights. Anyway, I woke up a little after 7:00 and couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up and went for a long walk. I really felt more alive, after that. I got back home a little after 10:00 and made myself a nice breakfast of eggs, bacon and tomatoe slices.

I hope everyone has a great day. Keep it legal, though!

Sounds like everyone is perking along! I am feeling good, sorta buzzed up! Off to the mall, which is always a bit of a challenge...the place smells so much...think I'll have a high fat luncheon of pepperoni...and cheese and veggies...
I just came from a small group meeting at a friends home and they all asked what diet, what diet, I said oh just a ketogenic diet where you lower carbs and then slowly add good ones in til the point where you stop loosing...
This gal said, Oh thank goodness you are NOT ON ATKINS and eating all that fat! I smiled weakly...admitted I loved bacon! ate it today and slipped away... (I eat bacon everymorning sshhhh)

I was more tired than I thought! I must be old LOL Party was great! We sat around and visited and laughed and looked at pictures and just had a good time. I think I got home around 10:30... was up at 4 with heartburn from eating a piece of sausage at the party.. ugh. Talked to hubby until 5. He got up, I went back to bed LOL He let me sleep late while he finished up some work around the house. Half my day is gone! ack! It did feel good to have a day of rest though.

A new day... one foot forward. Tonight is trunk r treat at the church. It will be nice to meet with friends and hang out for a while again tonight. I'm learning to enjoy the PARTY and not so much the foods.

Off to exercise before hubby comes in... he's wanting to go shoot the gun and I want to make sure that exercise is scratched off the list early in the day

                  Have a good Saturday, everyone!

                    Re: Saturday Check In

Well I am glad I pulled back today, because this has really been a trying and tiring day...I just came in from carpooling kids and then I had to take them all to the mall for 3 hours...Now everyone needs to know, i do not under any circumstances DO THE MALL...
I walked, and looked and listened, and OMG, the smells of food in the mall, even down at the anchor stores...goooodnessssss...I am wiped out! Tired, headachy...so glad I did not push myself to 10mi and who knows what I would have been like...Time to rest up before a 50th surprise party at a resturant...just what I need!
Glad I did not push it, I am glad I used some wisdom and pulled back, its only a little bit before i bounce back...for the evening challenges...

The mall--UGH! It's like the Spanish Inquisition. If it's not the smells of the food (food smells don't make me yearn, but everytime I see a Starbucks or juice bar, I cry a little inside for the departed--frozen blended coffee and strawberry orange banana smoothie) it's the size 0 clothing and the funhouse mirrors. Oh wait, maybe I really do look like that.

                      Malls suck.
