  • STACer, which rung are you on?

Just thought it would be interesting to see where most of us are!!! Going up the OWL ladder is very important to the plan as if we don't reintroduce carbs when and as gradually as we should, theres a high probability that we might sabotage all our hard work with a bacchanalian pig-out. Then that binge can feel so defeating we give up on ourselves and our new healthy lifestyle. And eventually come back to STAC for a third or forth try.
If there are enough of is in Induction maybe we can start the journey up the ladder together.

I totally agree with you. Modified OWLer here, but because I enjoy the rotational diet aspect with lack of cravings, or ones which are discernable due to the food which was newly-added!

I think there are benefits to staying in induction for extended periods of time, but it doesn't help people cope with the real world issues of nutrition and maintenance!

Awesome post as per usual, Lynne!

Great idea, Lynne! I've been hanging out at berries/melons for ages, but just for the last week, or so, have been putting my toe in the water of legumes (I drink wine so seldom, I don't even see the point of considering that a rung!). So, tonight it's steak, with one serving of garden peas.

To be honest, I'm not really sure if I'll be able to ever make it much beyond about halfway through the next fruit rung. I'm already beginning to see that my CCL may allow for a half of an apple or orange from time to time, but that's probably going to be about it. I suspect that starchy veggies and grains may be pretty much out of the picture for life (although, I will admit that I use the rare low carb tortilla).

I'm at veggies--I put myself back at square one by not doing a clean induction the first time, so now I'm making sure I'm VERY STRICT (with the exception of the Butternut Squash Incident, the tale of which is in another post) and drinking lots of water. I'm planning to stay on each rung for two weeks, and then see if it is ok to move to the next. I am concerned about boredom--I want to eat more of a variety of foods, I'm not concerned with majorly upping my daily carb count. I'm pretty satisfied at a lower rate, I'd just like more food options every now and then.

I put myself in the more veggies category but from time to time experiment with other rungs but keep the carb level down to appx 20 - 25 carbs. A glass of wine, a small portion of sweet potato, lc wraps etc. Fruit is a huge trigger for me so I dont bother with that rung or the nut rung at all anymore.
