  • Tues Check in

Happy Halloween! Boo... Tues is here. Stac seems to be growing, it's cool coming in the morning and seeing how is here and who is joining us. We are up early, getting the water going, the breakfast eggs cookin and getting people up and out of the house. Whew...I am laying a tiny bit low. Will exercise this afternoon in an attempt to not wear out what little leg power I have left. I have pushed hard, at the end to finish up a Oct goal on the bike.

I love goals and challenges. I entered a milage goal in Sept, but early on I started to split up biking and adding weight training, so I never reached my goal...I felt terrible and like a looser...Today I will cross my personal goal of 200mi on the bike, yet I committed to 100 mi.
Today I finished the 10 pounds down by Oct 31, and I actually lost 24 pounds total on that goal...So I have lost a total of 38 pounds...
That's very exciting considering I cannot make my body shed it's poundage. I can't control when it will drop and when it will hold on to fat.

A leader taught me once, under project and over deliver. I actually did not know if I could loose 10lbs in 6 weeks? I certainly did not conceive that I would loose 24. It feels good, but truthfully so many other things feel better. The clothes feel better than the number. The exercise feels better than the number. The community here feels better than any number! Seeing the success and regrouping of many to this journey, REALLY FEELS BETTER than MY PERSONL SUCCESS!

So I sit at a new level of achievement, and I am ready to commit to new things for Nov.

Can't wait to see who lost what on our little 5pounder by Halloween! Weigh in is tomorrow!

    Re: Tues Check in

    Good morning everyone.

Hey Jess! Congratulations on your weight loss and completing all your exercise goals. "Under project and deliver." I like that. Until my second time around and coming here to adbb, I had been over projecting and so causing my undelivering and giving up. Goals really are meant to be reached. A stretch, but within reach.

I completed the tricks, no treat challenge with a 10 pound loss. I wasn't sure I'd get that last pound, but I would have felt fine with 9 pounds and not seen it as a failure. And when I weighed in today, I was down a pound. I met my treadmill challege. For November, along with keeping track of time on the treadmill, I'm going to keep track of how many miles I am walking. I am down 19 pounds in two months.

Wow, Jess, your accomplishment is nothing short of amazing! I am so happy for you; and what a great role model you've become for the rest of us STACers. Just because we've been down this road before, doesn't mean that we're doomed to not make it all the way this trip!

I promised myself, yesterday, to make it through the new week without responding to a single "mumbling" and turned a deaf ear with the first one, last night. Now I know that I can do it, so why shouldn't I? It's going to be a great week!

Good wishes to everyone, on this Eve of All Hallows!

Babs fantastic! Chris way to go on the mumblings...
We are all going to see great success as we work it, one day at a time... Giving it our all. This morning, Caitlin my daughter has been faced with the question, what goals would you like to set for Nov? I wanted specific goals...Milage number and a crunch number. I wanted her to set a goal with food too, eating a little less, and getting back to fitday...She wants to loose 10lb in Nov. It can be done, if she will focus and tighten it up a little, work a little harder...She committed to this.
I have not picked my goals as yet, but I will...

          Good morning, gorgeouses!

It is so awesome reading how everyone is doing! And with a major holiday today centered around collecting piles of crummy junk foods, it's important we continue to stay strong!

          You can do it!

Morning everyone. Feeling good this halloween, I got up early and ran this morning. Beautiful day here in the NE, they say will hit 70. I cracked the 220s this morning as well, which has me feeling good.

Congrats on the new milestone, Paul! That's fantastic. By the way, if you've "cracked" the 220s, you'd better edit your sig. Right now, it says that you weigh two thousand three hundred pounds!

                  Re: Tues Check in

Good morning, STACers! I haven't posted much in these threads, but I do read them every day. I'm noncommital like that. Yikes. This is how I do the under-project and over-deliver....I need to work on that a bit.

I didn't make the 10 lbs in the Lose 10 by Halloween Challenge...but that's okay with me. I lost 8.4...I was over 200 when I started and I'm firmly in Onderland and size 12. I've started running and can do almost 5 miles. As I approach goal, I have to find my successes in so many other areas than the scale and even the tape measure. I learned this in another challenge...I think it was the Father's Day Challenge...from Sillygirl. She didn't lose at all in that challenge, If I recall correctly, she even gained. Then all of a sudden, she started losing and went below goal. I look at Sarah, iyamamaschke, and her commitment to this WOE even with her medical problems and frustrations.

I am so proud of myself for sticking to it this time around. I'm actually going to make it to goal. I've actually committed to these changes for the rest of my life. I was told yesterday by my personal trainers that my BMI is no longer in the "At Risk" category. My hip to waist ratio is well below the "At Risk" category.

If only I had known in September 2003 what I know now...

                    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I am totally excited today--Halloween in a school is always very exciting--some of the costumes these little dudes come to school with, it's crazy! I myself am dressed as sort of a gothic fairy/butterfly. That means I'm wearing orange and black with crazy makeup, a black wig w/orange streaks, and antennae and wings. I should take a picture. My students barely recognized me when I walked in!

Well I did boot camp last night--I really pushed myself so tonight I'm not gonna work out--just gonna watch a good movie with my boyfriend and eat some pumpkin. YUMMMM!

As for the weigh-in tomorrow, I believe I joined in the contest at the beginning of October, and since then, so far, I've lost 11.5lb. We'll see if I've lost any more tomorrow a.m.!

                    Have a BOO-tiful day!

Hi STACers!!! I missed you guys!!!

I am back ~ got back from the train adventure extrordinaire last night at 1am. I am all travelled out. We took the train from WA to Chicago & then rented a car and drove to Western Pennsyltucky to visit our relatives. It was quite the adventure. I also got to see my best friend from college in Chicago, and that was delightful. I'll write up a whole play by play of the trip in my journal later, including pictures, once i get them loaded onto the computer.

I knew i wouldn't have access to a computer on my journey, which freaked me out a little bit since i wouldn't have my daily ADBB connection. Bless Jess, she wrote me out a whole three pages of inspiring words of encouragement and motivation... and i printed them out and kept them close by... pulling them out when i needed that ADBB advice & contact, and it really helped quite a bit. THANKS SO MUCH, JESS - YOU ARE THE BEST! (And awesome new picture, by the way ~ you are looking fabulous!)

And i am happy to say i LOST THREE POUNDS ON VACATION!!!! I am now officially at 61 pounds lost and i made my 5 pounds in Oct STAC challenge and then some! So i am a very happy camper... only 4 more pounds until all of the "baby weight" is off, and then i can get started on just the regular weight... college pounds, stress pounds, etc. It is amazing how easy it is to stay on Atkins on vacation. I love it!

Well, that is it from me for now... it is Halloween & we have so much to do this week... our house closing is on Friday, so of course there are tons of things to do before then. And lots of painting in my future... we have all of the colors picked out for the rooms (and surprisingly agreed on everything!) and i am pretty excited about that. Luna isn't feeling well today so we are taking it easy and i am hoping she'll snap out of it for tonight so we can party and enjoy Halloween.

Have a great day, everyone... enjoy Halloween low carb style! I really did miss you ~ it is great to be back.
