  • New Day! New Month, checkin

    Goodmorning STACers...
It's a new month! It's a weigh in day for those who did the drop 5 in Oct. There is something about shooting for something that takes us alot farther than we would have gone without a target...

I love targets...They motivate me...I love being focused on something. I have always done well with a plan and a destination...I love to be going somewhere.

Some of you don't know it, but early on I set some dates, I refer to them all the time...I picked "UNTHINKABLE" dates in the beginning to arrive at!
1 week (unthinkable on day 1)
1 month (unthinkable during week 1)
Day 100 (unthinkable on day 10)
Jan 1, 2007 ( in sept I was starting to believe in it)
March 14th my 50th birthday ( Starting to really want it)
Aug 1, 2007 1 yr. anniv (unthinkable, and hard to believe)

Often times when bored, I go here and think about my "dates" these are desintations, I never think about how I will Look, I think about how I will feel...If i feel good about myself, and am energized I can really reach for my other life goals...I am so involved in some big projects and I truly want to see these things come to pass in my life...Atkin's WOL, is what's going to allow me to arrive there in a high quality state!

Goals take you some where, they cause you to reach and dig deep and press in for that last little bit...I felt that yesterday as I pressed in for the remaining 7 mi to reach 200 on the bike...It was a day I could have easily waved off the extra effort...NOW I am a little farther along, and a little thinner because of it! Hard work will always pay off.

Have a great day, STACers...Set some realistic goals...Dream about your near futures...Work hard to create a positive image of yourself on Jan 1, and let's all come here and celebrate how hard we have worked, and how far we have come...Let's shoot for a clean, legal strong WOL all the way through to Jan 1, and let's stand on that peak and celebrate our efforts, together!

November, look out, cause you won't get me either! Jess, I have dates of my own that I set for myself. A big one for me is the month of June. I will have been on Atkins for 9 months by then. I keep thinking what it will be like to walk onto that beach un-embarassed. Play softball with a new energy to RUN those bases. Play volleyball, badmitton, and all of the other fun picnic style games without getting over-winded and sweating a hundred gallons while doing it! I can't WAIT to be healthy!!!! I'm getting there and it feels better each and every day, so I can only imagine what June will be like!

        Morning fellow STACers!

It's a bright sunny day here in my neighborhood. Wish I could say the same for me, I feel like something the cat dragged in for some reason. I have about 5 meetings today taht I have to go to too, when all I want to do is sleep.

Oh well, enough complaining! I made the 5 pounds by halloween goal by a hair - losing 3 pounds in 2 days! I really worked it hard the last week to try to make it, and I did it! I still have to make sure on the other scale just to be sure, but I'm pretty sure I did it.

You guys are doing so great! Way to go! Keep up the good work in this tremendously rewarding month of November, where the turkeys are lovable and very low-carby.

I have to make my famous roasted garlic and rosemary mashed potatoes for my 'girls halloween' this year, I hope I can survive! Last year I made cauliflower au gratin as well, since that's like my favorite thing in the whole world. :P

Thank god i don't like thanksgiving food. Although I do love mashed potatoes!

Re: New Day! New Month, checkin

Happy November 1st, everyone! We made it thru Halloween... now onto the next holiday! Seems like there is one thing after another from here on out through New Years. Last year this time is when i fell off the wagon a bit and decided to do things my own way... which resulted in a lot of cheating around the holidays and not coming to ADBB anymore. Bad combination... resulted in weight gain and misery.

BUT THIS YEAR is different. Last year i was in the "planned cheats" mode and this year i am not even going there. My friend and i are planning a completely low-carb/sugar free Thanksgiving and i am really excited about that. Then we'll get started on planning the same thing for Christmas.

Stressful times coming up, but in a good way ~ we sign our final papers on the house today and then if everything goes well, the house will be ours on Friday at 1pm! Wish me luck... i am so nervous. I just want everything to go as planned. This weekend & next week will be all about painting and starting to move in a few things. Then the big move the weekend after this one. Now is the time for me to have pre-planned meals. Low-carb things i can grab on the go, as i run from one thing to the next. And maybe waking up a little earlier so i can get my ADBB fix before i start the day.

Hey ~ i got some pictures of our trip up in my journal if anyone is interested... come check it out!

              Enjoy the day, everyone!!!

Re: New Day! New Month, checkin

Hey! Sorry my check in is late! Been a busy day.

I am totally excited for November, because I feel like the "real" me is finally emerging from my fat suit. I can see muscles. I feel tighter and lighter. I've been getting compliments! I feel more confident! I am so excited because this month I'll be exploring the dairy rung (yayyyyyyy yogurt!) and possibly NUTS (Chris, don't even say it, you pervert!) so my food choices will be expanding!

Yay happy November! It is my goal to lose 10lb this month!

Hi Guys...sorry I have not been posting but I am on vacation and moving is only a week and 1/2 away So, lots of packing and packing and packing, calling phone, electric, dish, etc. people to move our services, cleaning, etc... good news is we have a contract pending on our house here, so if it goes thru (fingers crossed), we won't have to float 2 mortgages, even though we are prepared to! Hit a small speedbump last night and I have not been drinking my all of my water and no exercise due to broken toe and no time...other that that, I have been on track! It has just started, but I cannot wait for November to be over!!!

Have a great day STACers... will be back on Saturday, have to work that day!

Wow! I made it through October and ready to meet November head on. For the last few summers there have been nothing but regrets about how I spent the winter eating comfort food. And now is summer and here I am can't find anything that fits and I can't hide what I have. I see my self in the Summer of 2007, with endless possibilities. I will be fit, without the heavy breathing and sweating. I'll be 8 months in and a true 'Carbuster.' I looking forward to being successful. Peace.
