  • What day is it? Thurs check in

I think today is Thurs, but you better check your calendars...Oh my gosh for about 10 days I have lived in a vortex...whew... I didnt get all my water or veggies in yesterday...only about 80oz of water and only half a cuke and half a bell pepper...no lettuce...

New day, feeling better all the time. My world is cruising. It's good, but now I have to keep up with the little voices...
You know those voices, "drink your water"..."ok, you are leaving for the day, what are YOU taking to eat with you???" "What are you fixing for dinner?" "Hey are you sure you should shop right now you have not eaten in 4 hours?"
Or how about these little voices..." So, your promised to exercise today..." "You promised to stay cheat free and do it right today!"

We promise ourselves, very quietly WITH THE LITTLE VOICE... Then we report it here...then we break our promise, then we admit it, and feel badly...

Ya'll This leads us to our biggest problem of ALL lack of SELF TRUST...We BREAK our personal promises and destroy confidence in our selves...once that is gone, we feel so bad, we eat to cover it up, and deny it...

Faithfulness in the little personal promises is really the core of my success and I KNOW THAT THE MINUTE I DO NOT KEEP MY PROMISE TO MYSELF, THIS PROGRAM WILL BEGIN TO UNRAVEL IN MY LIFE...

"JUST THIS ONCE" will destroy me..."I'll get to it later!" will destroy me.

Last night my daughter made a scrambled egg and told me she would clean up after herself...she never did...it disappointed me to find that pan still sitting there and dried up egg remnants in a bowl this morning... I had to take her back to the scene...This is a crime scene now...I said. You have not kept YOUR WORD that's a crime and a shame...in the real world, we judge quickly, and harshly and what keeps our reputation up, is to be very careful what we promise and then no matter what, DELIVER (OR DON"T PROMISE)...Once she promised, she put herself in a very different catagory...She failed to deliver and it LESSENED my CONFIDENCE in her....

Years and years ago this whole world was held together by a mans word...It was his bond...We throw around our words and forget them the very next minute...I guarantee you somebody is listening...and it either makes you or instantly breaks you...

Keep your promises to yourself on this WOL... Don't promise thinking it will automatically RAISE YOUR GAME and PERFORMANCE. Nothing happens just cause we say it!
Start small, keep that promise and then over deliver.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY, BECAUSE YOUR CONFIDENCE, ESTEEM, AND ATTITUDES ARE LISTENING....
After awhile, we learn WHO to lean in and listen to and who to write off...
Be that person of character everywhere you go today and especially here in this program where really your words are your bond.

I can not believe it's already Thursday. I know it's said that "time flies," but I think it travels by supersonic jet, these days! It reminds me that we need to make the absolute best of each moment, because they truly are fleeting, and once gone, can never return.

May all of you STACers succeed in making each moment the best that it can be as you travel through the hours of your own Thursday!

Wow, Thursday. Amost another week gone by!

My lil voice is there too. Today she is reminding me to drink my water, do a video for exercise, pay attention to my hunger, don't wait too long to eat, plan meals, don't be so nervous

      Gonna be a good day!

You know Jess, i know this concept. I believe in it. I'm always on time to every meeting I go to--whether work or personal. It's important to me to not be late. If I tell someone something I feel like I have to do it. My WORD is at stake. My CREDIBILITY is at stake. My INTEGRITY is at stake. One caveat--Ive only used it in my dealings with others, or my public image.

But, I haven't always paid attention to applying it to those inner voices. I'm glad you pointed that out. I need to put more stock in the promises and commitments I make with myself, when it's JUST ME.

Happy Thursday! Wow ~ deep thoughts this morning... very insightful & thought provoking, Jess! You've given me quite a bit to think about this morning.

Plugging along today... tomorrow is the big day for the house! I'm looking forward to getting in there and getting everything done that needs to be done. Time for this Capricorn to start making lists and start organizing everything...

            Good morning all.

Thanks Jess; You serve up a mighty dish of food for thought. Today my little voice is saying to try to keep my increased minutes on the treadmill for the November challenge, that I have to do this to save my life, no matter what my body's voice is saying about that this morning.

I can't believe how time is flying either. I swear, every year it gets faster too.

"Making each moment the best it can be..." I needed to hear that today.

Re: What day is it? Thurs check in

                Happy thursday everyone!

I need advice: I'm going to a conference in canada, and am only getting 30$ a day per diem. In addition, the conference is providing us with 'several meals' - whatever that means.

How on EARTH do I manage to eat atkins friendly for only 30$ a day??? That's 3 meals a day! And we all know the food provided will not be atkins friendly, so we can just throw that out the window. I tried to order 'diabetic' meals but that wasn't an option (of course), so.. *sigh*

Anyway... I don't know if there will be a store nearby or anything - it's a resort town so it's unclear what kind of amenities there will be other than luxury ones. :P

knickknack-Call the hotel ahead of time. Ask them if your room has a fridge/microwave. Ask them if they are available for guests. Ask them if grocery stores are nearby. Ask them what restaurants are nearby. I travel frequently and have learned to do this ahead of time. If you're not going to have a vehicle, make sure to ask distances and ask specifically for establishments within walking distance. Ask them if they have a menu online for the hotel restaurant.

                    HELLO!

Joy--I know exactly what you're talking about--being on time, keeping your word. It's a rarity if it happens, but I hate myself if I let someone else down. It's the thought of someone thinking I'm irresponsible or not trustworthy that really makes me work hard for others--but I need to keep that same willpower and dedication for myself. It is kind of sad that I'd rather let myself down than someone else.

Atkins has taught me to start looking at this in a new light--it's like "if I let myself down, how can I possibly have integrity, or responsibility, or honesty? Even if I am reliable for others, it's still a sham. It all starts with me. If I fail myself, then I fail. Period."

Today is a long day--parent-teacher conferences. However, as a music teacher, I don't see too many parents for "serious" (i.e. "bad") conferences--mostly students just want their parents and families to meet me and say "hi."

No workout tonight, as I am TOTALLY tired out!
