Hi Everyone!
I am really determined this time. I started Atkins in 2003 and lost 66 pounds in 10 months. THen in 2004 I had a hysterectomy which of course threw me off for a while. I got back on the wagon, lost the 20 pounds I gained with the hysterectomy, then hit another wall this past march when my asthma kicked in. I have been battling it since then, but I am so determined to get well.
I have one more week of steriods. My blood sugar is totally out of whack. but this morning at 3AM when I couldnt sleep because of all the asthma meds, I picked up DANDAR and started reading from the beginning. I am up to chapter 8 now, and I remember why I am a low carber. Insulin Resistance. PCOS. Diabetes in my family. ANd I started remembering how good I felt.
Today is day one of induction. So far so good. Cheese and bacon Omlet for breakfast, Steak and cauliflower for lunch. Dinner will be Either chicken or pork with a salad. I have limited my coffee intake to 2 8 oz cups with just a tablespoon of heavy cream. I have taken my suppliments and have already drunk 96 oz of water. And I am not hungry! THat is the amazing thing.
The next couple of weeks are going to be rough. I know tomorrow will start the headaches from HECK. We are also getting ready for a trip to Disneyworld with the kids for the week of Thanksgiving. I am going to need all the support I can get.
I have been lurking today around here. You all are so supportive and helpful. I am looking forward to becoming a regular poster on these boards.
I should mention too, the doctor gave me the go ahead yesterday to start exercising again. It has been since August since I was allowed to step foot in a gym. SO I am starting to walk and on monday I will go back to slowly work up to my normal running routine again. Probably more walking than running at first...
Thanks for listening!!
