  • Help with a daily menu

Hello everyone. I'm getting myself going and need some pointers on menu. I know what I can and cannot eat (for the most part) but I'd love some suggestions on a plan.

I find that repetitive works for me. The simpler the better. I can always hit a deli for breakfast eggs and meat.

Lunch probably needs to be a salad. Is Bleu Cheese dressing ok? My guess is bleu cheese crumbles are fine but not sure about dressing. Can I get some salad dressing tips?

Any other tips to "keep it simple" would be great.

yep bleu cheese dressings maybe okay.. Dr Atkins has a rule for dressing they need to be under 2 carbs a serving and sugar needs to be way down the list of ingredients to be say.

you should have some protein some fats and some carbs every meal. you don't have to have breakfast foods for breakfast either so let your hunger and taste buds rule. if you use one of the free onlins sites liek www.fitday.com to log your foods you can play with your menu for the day to be sure you will get in enough of the good fats ( 65% of inductees cals should be in the form of healthy fats) proteins (30% a day for the rest of our lives should be this amount) and thecarbs undr 20 net right now.

make your meals fun for you with textures and tastes you enjoy and never feel deprived again.

Boy I understand simple. Check out Lindas menus http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html She can give you some great ideas. It sounds like you have breakfast covered. Be careful though, sometimes restaurants have hidden ingredients. Omelets are great choices cause you can get fat, protein and carbs at the same time. Try to do that if possible
Taco salad with out the taco is a great suggestion. Tuna Salad, egg salad, cobb salad, all work, you just have to be careful
Dinner can be simple also. Chops, a veggie. Hamburger without the bun.

Good suggestion from Lynne - but i have read on these forums that some restaurants make their omelettes with pancake batter or add milk to the beaten eggs. So if you are odering ask for them to be made with just egg plus any (legal) fillings to make sure
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
