  • Good morning, It's Thursday

Hey all my friends at STAC!!! It's Thursday...where inthe world has this week gone..Look at the time!!!!
this morning driving Caitlin in to school I said, you know, "it hard today but you'll be strong tomorrow"...now me being a chidlrens song writer, there is possibility all over that one! My daughter, being the daughter of a educational entertainer realizes she is ABOUT TO BE TRAPPED in a stream of thought coming outta her Momma...she HUNKERS DOWN...
I was silent, giving it a moment...she started to relax her breath, thinking I might not add to my inital statement...Then I blurted it out, "slackers think it's cool to slack, and hollywood loves to create movies about funny slackers... BUT did you know, Slackers are unhappy inside"...
More silence..... I said "aren't you glad you are happy inside? You are not a slacker, but an achiever!"...She sat upright, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw her "click and get it"...

Don't slack off on the water today...Drink every single ounce!
Don't slack off on the intensity of that exercise today, give it alot of effort!
Don't slack off staying one step ahead of your addictions...
Be on your toes, and I bet you will find yourself, happier with yourself!

Oh, to be a fly in the car with yall on the way to school LOL My kids will say "Mooom! Don't embarrass me!" I say "why not? you did it to me when you were little - throwing fits, crying and not letting go of something, etc. " hahaha. gotta love kids - especially teens!

Was off yesterday. Lots of running around, not near the water I wanted. I'm home and grounded today!

Jess--you need to write some songs for ADBB! The High-carb blues or something.

Rachel--I'm gonna keep that line for when I have kids!

Today is a lovely Thursday. So much drama going on. Yeah right. I did watch the Biggest Loser last night (well most of it, I forgot it was on at 7pm) and I was on the edge of my seat. I'm such a sucker for shows about people losing weight. My boyfriend gets really sick of it...well and I guess I can't blame him, because after TBL, we watched the 411lb. 16 year old on Discovery Health. Yeah I guess I do watch a lot of weight loss programming.

Yay, I'm going to work out tonight, and FINALLY cook eggplant lasagna. Tomorrow is Friday and I'm going to try to make an appt. with that personal trainer at the gym. I gotta get a tailored program--if I do what I was doing before, I turn into the incredible Hulk, and if I stop altogether, my muscles disappear. UGHHHHHHH.

      Have a great day, all!

Oh yah! Here too. We watch LOST and tape TBL so we can forward through the gazillion commercials and see what happens faster!

I think its' sugar-free Sheila's web site that talks about body types and how they react to exercise.. you may want to check that out.

            Happy Thursday STACers!

Its a much needed bright and sunny day in Michigan today! I'm doing good and hanging in there. I haven't been able to check in as much as I would like on the boards due to busy schedule at work. But the busy schedule will hopefully mean no time to think of food and boredom eating.

Things went great at the new doc. He was able to give me some hope - finally! He is increasing my meds (slowly) so I should be feeling better in the next 2 months when he gets me up to the higher dosage. From there, he says my metabolism will increase and my energy will increase. So these things alone are enough to thrill me right now.

I hope everyone has a great day!!! Thanks for all of your support during my rough patch.

                    Re: Good morning, It's Thursday

Sure Happy It's Thursday (especially, since it's a holiday, tomorrow)!

I've noticed, recently, that some slacks that wouldn't button a few weeks ago, now do; however, it's one of those things where I'm getting smaller, but the scale is absolutely stuck, rock solid, on the same number!

I just have to remind myself that it's now how much you weigh, but how big you look, that really matters.

                    Have a great day, STACers!

Wow Chris that's insightful...It's not how much you weigh, but HOW you look...

Hey Sarah, glad that the new doc shed some hope and a progress plan to bring you back into a goood place!!!

Thursday is so-far-so-good. Scrambled eggs with cheese this a.m. Haven't had lunch yet, but am on my way to the kitchen for a salad with a can of tuna on top. Dinner...not sure yet.

                            Re: Good morning, It's Thursday

Hello all! It's been a pretty good day today. I have money and relationship problems just like about everyone else on this planet, so I won't go down that road. The reason I say that is because even though I have so much drama going on in my life right now, I still pop out of bed in the mornings. I have a smile across my face. I go to work with a pleasant attitude. The old out of shape/unhealthy me would mope around. Frown. Be a witchy witch to everyone I come in contact with. This WOL continually reminds me of how WONDERFUL it is to be on a healthy path in life. You get more than one shot in the money/relationship trials, but you only have 1 life to live. No do overs. Today I thought about the holidays and the readily available treats that will be spread on all the tables at home/work/relatives/friends. I questioned my will power for the first time since I started this WOL. I also answered that little voice. I will be strong. I will continue to look at my success and not risk losing what I have gained. Funny that I'm saying that I have GAINED from Atkins. I will continue to exercise come **** or high water. I have found yummy recipes in which I will make and bake and share during the feasts so that others can see that this WOE is far from boring and bland. I believe I am ready.

WTO Jamie! You are going to rock the holidays...Especially as you keep things with the wol, a priority...I think it is key that at this stressful time, you are turning to food for comfort! I know I have to plot and plan goals along the way thru these holidays. That helps me stay focused. Tomorrow we will climb Stone Mtn. it's our "treat" for making it to and thru day 100...that was one of those "well placed treats"...

think of something you could reward yourself with on jan 1. Or think about who you want to be by there.
You've lost 26 lbs. You turn down evenings out with the gang to the bar, you got through halloween...You've worked out consistently! You are coming along and creating YOUR OWN STRENGTH...You won't have to try and grab strength at the last moment, it's already resident within you. YOU might hold someone else together, over the holidays... Think about that...Coming here and working my way around the boards and in relationships allows me to strengthen myself and I give out of that strength...
You have such strength within...You really do!
