  • This time...

it'll work! I'm new to the boards but not new to Atkins. First time was a few years ago. I just started up again last week. What I remember more than the weight loss was how much energy I had, and having two little boys (age 2 and 3) means I need all the help I can get! Plus I have some lingering health issues that I know will go away if I would just eat decently. So here I am again!

Thanks in advance for all the support. I'm already getting the eyerolls from people in my family who are like "Oh great, Atkins again." (Not my immediate family...just extended.) I'm "really" excited about Thanksgiving with the inlaws...um...anyway....

Glad to be here and looking forward to it all!

    Re: This time...

Hi - Things are different with "doing Atkins" by the book than they were a few years ago. The 2002 edition of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution is the new improved version. Also, a good many people thought then and many still think now that doing Atkins means eating nothing but an induction menu, or eating nothing but meat or fat, and that it will kill you.

Believe me, the folks around you will stop rolling their eyes soon enough when they see the results in terms of your improved health, attitude and energy. You can also show them the book, if they worry you are not eating a healthy diet.

    Good luck!!

Hi there! Welcome to ADBB and STAC! Glad to have you here.

Yeah, just ignore the eye-rolling. I get it a lot too and I've just started telling people that my doctor told me to do it (which she did, more or less). That tends to shut them up! Besides, if you're healthy who cares what they think!

Eye-rolling is pretty common, but who cares. A friend of mine posted recently, We shouldn't just do low-carb, we should be low carb. Thats my new motto.

Congrats on coming back! I also say my doctor recommends it. And I say you have to do whatever works for you! I starved doing Weight Watchers and counting calories too. Atkins just works so much better. I saw immediate results and that alone is enough to keep me going

Join us on the boards, start a journal, take on a challenge. Find what works for you and stick with it
