  • 60 pounds off 60 pounds on, going back down

I lost 60 pounds on the Atkins Diet and thing went well for a year. My daughter's boyfriend moved in and my diet just went away. Chips and pizza were every where, not to mention a "small" amount of stress. Now they have married and moved out, but the weight has remained.

My doctor told me I had to loose weight for health reasons and when I mentioned Atkins he went into the "it's only water weight loss and a hoax" now he is my ex-doctor. I was at 305lb I started out at 30 grams of carbs and still drink coffee. (I'm BAD I know.) Now after two and a half weeks I'm down to 288. I'm on Metformin too now, and I have no idea what that does to the diet. Should I go on the induction diet now or is it too late? I had constipation problems on the induction diet the first time, that's why I skipped it this time.

I am addicted to coffee and it's not going away and it didn't the first time. Would I really be doing better if, I GULP, gave it up????

Coffee - I still have mine too. Now I have decaff. If it worked the first time, it may work this time. If the losing stops.. then you can try. heck, who knows, in a few months you may just toss it out the window all together!?

Induction - well, to each his own. If you want to detoxify, then do induction. If you feel you have detoxed and are not having any cravings.. then continue on your merry way. I didn't do a clean induction due to lack of having a book and relying on memory. I lost a good amount, detoxed and kept on going. I just didn't feel the need to go through that again because I pretty much stay at induction levels anyway.

Best of luck! Post and check in often. It was my saving grace this time around.

      Hi there Mark !

I just wanted to welcome you and to add that eating more leafy greens and fiber would help with constipation problems.

      Welcome aboard !
