    Check in , all you newbies, HOW YA DOING???? Things are popping alot around STAC...Hey stick to the plan today. Eat right, watch how you are doing...read a bit of DANDR, and drink your water and make exercise happen..it's that three pronged stool...that gives you so much support...

      Morning! Whoah! That Colorado cold front pushed through and man! BRRRR.

      I'm feeling good today. Wanted to get up early and do exercise first thing because it really sets my day. Will have to work on that. Who wants to mess up on the diet after the hard work of the exercise?? NOT ME! I want that work to pay off. LOL

      Yesterday was a good day off. Very relaxed. Needed that. Today it's back to the grind and my familiar schedule. I like that zone.. that not even having to think about what needs to be done.

      I do have to find another "snack" for the morning. Had a cuke the other day that was very bitter and I just cannot make myself try another one for awhile. ICK! Guess it will have to be cream cheese and celery or double up on my salad. That'll work.

      Won't get my exercise in until evening.. grrrr.. then I'll be "high" all night LOL

        Good morning everyone!!! Today I'm drinking water, coming here to get my daily dose of enthusiasm, and as always I'm not disappointed! LOL

        This morning I gained 4 lbs. 4 lbs of injured muscle holding water while trying to repair itself. 4 lbs of lean body mass in the making. 4 lbs of tight, toned leg and arm muscles in the making!! WOOHOOO!

          Rachel, have you tried Jicama? I am addicted to it...and it counts as a salad veggie. Very high in fiber.

          I chop it and put it on my salad with some walnuts mmmmm

          Or, I just peel and it it like an apple. mmmmmmm

            Jicama, I have got to figure out how to say this and then find some and try it...does it taste like an apple??? What does it taste like...

            Joy I appreciate how you always PUT THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE for all of us, still in the early days of our journey...You are so far down the road, and know what to do with numbers, know what's going on with your bod, know alot..and what I love is you share it in a way that make me gravitate towards your success. I just love when you pop in STAC and give us something to chew on, beyond my rambling positive talk...
            You give us 4lb of MEAT BABY!!! MEAT..on your bones and on teh scale!!!! something to consider!

              Morning all. Holding my ground. Diligently drinking my water, taking my vitamins. I need to work on exercising more. I am adding little by little and can't wait til the 6-week challenge starts on Sunday. I know my competive side will kick in...watch out!!!

                Well I'm excited here in Montana. I'm taking the 6th graders on a field trip to see a symphony orchestra performance, and I've grilled them about performance etiquette...I think they'd clap in their sleep if a conductor showed up in their dreams...so we're leaving at 9:30, so I will be MIA all day! Yayyyyyyyyy! Field trip field trip field trip!

                Oh and Jess, if you're having 3-pronged stools, you might want to see a doctor...

                  Have you ever eaten raw potato? Jicama, while NOT starchy, has the texture of raw potato, it has a slight sweet taste, but not nearly as sweet or juicy as apple. I really love it.

                    Thanks, Joy! I think I tried it long ago by baking it? Someone said like french fries. I will have to try it again. Anything to dress up those salads

                    I tried a recipe from a friend and it passed the kid test. It will be my dressing for Tgiving meal. I haven't worked out some of the amounts yet or the carb count.

                    1 bag of okra
                    1 pound of cooked ground meat
                    onion/bell pepper
                    salt, pepper, garlic power
                    can of rotel

                    cook the okra down in a heavy pot on the stovetop with a little bit of olive oil - some do it in the oven and cook it slowly, I was in a hurry and hungry! Add the onion and bell pepper. When okra is fully cooked, add the cooked ground meat, season, add the can of rotel. Cook some more so flavors mingle.

                    It was soo good! I think I'm gonna have me some more!

                            Well as of today I have finished week one of induction and I feel great! I will admit there were afew times I almost licked my fingers while cooking but it was mostly out of habit not want and I was able to stop myself with no trouble the habit has been the hardest for me not the craving I still cook for a family of 5 and I'm the only one who cant eat the rice, potatoes, sauces, ect but I still cook them for everyone else.
                            I think its because I'm just finally sick of the weight and am ready to get rid of it so the junk food and carbs really has lost most of its pull for me now this might change as time goes on I'm sure I'll have lots of down days during this change but I'll work thru them as they come and this board I'm sure will help alot I think one of the best things I have done so far in my weightloss journey is to come back here.

                            Today is my weekly weigh in day and I'm down another 2 pounds so that makes a total of 6 pounds for my first week Yay!!!
