I got out the book, the Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. I am preparing for an assignment. So I am sitting in the bathroom, yes where I have been alot in the past few days...and I open the book, and act like I have never seen it before. First off the guy immediately takes you away from the concept that this is a diet...NOT! This is a way of eating WOE and it leads to a way of LIFE, WOL..
He sees it long term..Suggests quicly and brightly there is really NO GOING BACK to the SUGAR enriched lifestyle of that average american diet to maintain the avantages you will gain on Atkins...CAn't have em both!

There is no going back! There is only going forward...I like RachelinLa, am working very hard to make this whole program stick. I like Rachel stop and ask the big questions and work it out. I want a way of life, that becomes a routine lifestyle. I have said it all along, it's far more important than weight loss.
Because frankly all my clothes are hanging on me...and if I stopped loosing weight right now, I am kinda fine because I feel so much better than when I was hauling around that 42 pounds...I can breath and move without resting. My heartburn is completely gone, my moods are calm and stable. I don't have food guilt of any kind. I am in, all the way into Atkins...no in and out..so it's calm and quiet on many fronts. I am agressively up and at it each day...Seeking new opportunities, taking bigger steps, working harder!
It's amazing what moving a good bit of sugar and carbs out of my life has produce. My relationship with food has completely changed. It is now fuel not my drug.
This seems to be what Dr. A is hiniting at in his "promise" the first chapter of the book...a lifestyle change.

Hey as the first of the big holidays approaches, and you get prepared for that holiday, HOW ABOUT PREPARING YOUR MIND. HOW ABOUT SPENDING SOME TIME IN THE BOOK. GOING BACK OVER THE ADVANTAGES OF THIS PROGRAM. As you hurry and scurry, make sure you go back and take a bit of time to visualize your holiday...While doing the check list of things to get out and ready, or things to pack or things to pick up, how about taking time to pack your mind with the right things you'll need to get thru the long weekend. I use to work for a surgeon and He had a practice of going thru entire surgeries from the beginning to the end, visually the night before. So He walked in prepared...
    Prepare.

Good advice Jess -- I've got my book right beside me, and a stack of recipes that I'm going through before I do my grocery shopping this weekend.

          Have a great day,

              Hello Jess!

I agree--I am always re-reading parts, looking up information...it is such a wealth of knowledge it's easy to forget or miss bits and pieces. Today I looked up info on CCLLs.

                Re: Sat. Thoughts

Haven't grabbed my book lately, but sure should. I found myself feeling weak yesterday and wanted to cave in to the wonderful smells of a nearby Italian restaurant. I didn't though and that feel great!
As for Thanksgiving, I am still trying to figure out how I am going to manage this holiday (and the next and a Christmas Party in between...YIKES!) with the strength I showed yesterday. One day at a time I say.......one day at a time!!

Hope all is having a great Saturday. I just rolled out of bed for the second time today...feeling under the weather and desparately needed a nap. I am a up, but far from awake...I believe another nap or early bedtime will occur tonight!

                    Re: Sat. Thoughts

I had my 1st party at work on Friday...the food was amazing! 8 different kinds of desserts...
I had turkey, ham, collards, and Greek salad. Those were MY only choices out of maybe 20 other dishes offered. I felt deprived, but then got on the scales this AM and had lost a lb. SOOOOOOOOOO.....

Yeah, with parties, or going places where there's food, it's always best to eat ahead of time--heck they tell you that NO MATTER what type of food you eat. People are notorious for overeating or eating bad foods at parties...
