  • a whole week

I've completed week one of induction. I feel pretty good but am having a lot or cravings. The weekends are MUCH more difficult than the weekdays.

I ate some fried (read: BREADED) Mozarella at dinner tonight and had a chicken dish with some alfredo sauce. Guess I could have done worse, right?

I'm craving water all the time and still visiting the bathroom regularly. Going to see Casino Royale tonight and I'm concerned I'm going to have to get up and leave the theater!

Goals for this week: At least three cardio workouts at the gym.

    Hey Rosenbaj

Why don't you post a couple of menu's and let us have alook at what you're eating? Maybe there is something there that is triggering those cravings.

      Re: a whole week

Rosenbaj, Man you are on a roll! The cravings are really hard to deal with, it's probably the mental side of it all. It took a while for food to settle down in my head. Hang in there, it's well worth the fight...I find I have to curb and gague my water so as not to ruin an event too. After a while you get in a system with the water when to drink it, and when to hold off...your body gets use to it too... For me some of the deeper thirst settled down...
As you keep walking forward, you will see more results, especially as you work out!!! That's very very good of you to head off and do that.
      Have a great day.

        typical menu:

        Breakfast
3 egg omelet with cheese...usually and ounce of cheddar or american; bacon; water and decaf coffee.

        Lunch
Small salad with blue cheese, bacon. Water; maybe caffeine free diet coke.

        Dinner
Any sort of meat dish...steak or chicken with broccoli or cauliflower.

Pepperoni, cheese as snacks...not much as I'm not hungry all the time.

        What do you think?

Are you having cravings or are you hungry? I don't see protein at lunch. Could be your hungry. Check the sugars in dressings? I'm not a blue cheese fan so I dunno. It really looks good

Yeah, add a piece of chicken to your salad at lunch, see if that helps. If I only ate some lettuce with bacon for lunch I'd be starving too!

what type of meat dishes are you eating? Plain meat? Are there sauces?

You need more fat. Are you using butter in the pan with the omelet? The rule is 2 cups salad veggies plus one cup cooked veggie or 3 cups salad veggies per day. Are you doing that? I agree with the others ... add some more protien in the salad (hard boiled eggs, chicken, tuna, or last nights left over protien). Is that blue cheese dressing? What brand? I recommend Maries Blue Cheese Dressing (full fat). Make sure you put some butter on your dinner veggies. Your ratios should be 65% fat, 30% protien, 5% carbs. Look at www.fitday.com. Sign up (its FREE) and put your daily menu in. Its a lifesaver for us on .

Are you drinking all your water? You need half your body weight in water (example if you weigh 200 pounds you need 100oz of water).

Exercising? Dr. Atkins says its madatory. Walking is great exercise!

Good luck on your Atkins journey!

I second the fact that you need to increase your fat intake - it fills you up and curbs all those cravings! Add some extra protien in and make sure you eat whenever you are hungry - any high fat, high protien snack will do!
                Remember you are aiming for 65% fat / 5 % carbs / 30% protien.

                Looking good appart from that!
