  • Affirmations....what are yours?

Here are my Atkins Diet affirmations. For a LOOOOOOOONG time too much emphasis and importance has been placed on the food in my life......instead of my life itself.....ah...food addictions...They are so frustrating and difficult to escape. I am sick of being a carb addict and tired of being fat....So here for the whole Atkins community to see are my commitments and my personal affirmations!

Food (high carb foods) are not as important as my long term happiness or my physical health.

I do not NEED high carb foods to be “happy”

Food is not my friend; If I “love” it, it will not “love me back”

High carb foods are my addiction; these food addictions will exercise no power over me.

Food is not my emotional crutch or my source of comfort.

Food is not my source of entertainment.

I eat to live…I do not live to eat.

Changing my attitude(s) about food is changing my life for the better.

I am committed to making wise food choices and sticking to my Atkins program day by day, one day at a time in order to reach my health goals.

I am commited to a regular exercise program for life!

I am saying these out loud every day until I reach my goal!

    I say.

Diet? What diet? (How can something so easy as Atkins be a diet, its so effective and you don't go around thinking of food all the time).

      Re: Affirmations....what are yours?

lol my biggest and hardest thing to get past when starting this woe eating was remembering that ALLLL the food i love will be there in thf future, which was why i always had a hard time with moderation, i felt every meal of my favorites was my last meal.

So i alway tell myself, what you don't have today will be there tomorrow.

Tasting your food instead of inhaling it, opens up a whole new pursuit of pleasure

A little bit will go a long way to get you wear you want to be.

These may not mean a lot to many people but they help me a lot with my feast or faminie mindset i have always had.

        Re: Affirmations....what are yours?

You don't need that now. If you really need it later, you can have it later. But you don't need it NOW.

you need to move your fat a** TODAY. You can be tired and thin TOMORROW.

This weight will not lose itself.

You're not fooling anyone but yourself.

        It's working. Just keep going.

          Re: Affirmations....what are yours?

I love these affirmations! Many REALLY apply to me too!
I especially agree with the ones about certain foods being there tomorrow.

Why is it that we think that suddenly foods like chocolate will just vanish never to be seen again ????

Not a chance...I think if chocolate dissapeared there would be another world war lol!

Your feedback is great! Its good to remember that instant gratification is really not the best kind. Nothing beats the feeling of weight loss.....

          Thanks guys! Happy Thanksgiving!
