    How is everyone this bitter cold morning? It's 26 degrees as I sit and type in my very cold office. I'm waiting for it to warm up but may not stay much longer LOL This is very cold for us southerners.. ack!


    I'm eager to get on the gazelle again today, if even for just .5 mile. It really helps my self-esteem to know that I'm actively doing something to better myself. I've got my ice water in a glass next to me.. hmm.. it's kinda cold already LOL

    Okay, off to start the day!

    Good Morning Rachel,

    I'm Nichole and I'm new here as of yesterday. Someone mentioned in the introduce yourself forum that I should check out this board because it is my Second Time around on this WOE. So your in Louisiana too? I live in Alexandria which is cenla. It's cold here too this a.m. Well, if you need a buddy to vent or whatever just holler ok.

      Hey Nichole! Good to meet another from Louisiana. I'm in Lake Charles and still trying to warm up. Welcome to the board. I think you have found a wonderful place. But then, I'm partial We check in each day.. kinda sets our mind frame to stay on track. Check out the journals and stats and there are challenges and .. well, you get the picture. It's a great place to be!

        Hey Nicole, welcome to STAC, we're so glad to have you and the family...
        We DO check in every day, say our "hellos" and usually something to think about is posted, or a though on how we are doing...Right now we are all focused on goals and plans to make it thru this season...many of us are highly involved in exercise, and there is the exercise challenge forum, where there are many to pick from..
        I am sure that' not something you want to do this early or this cold of a morning!
        Water is a huge topic amoung us all the time..We are striving to drink ours...
        Hope you make alot of friends, they are everywhere!!!

          Hello STACers!

          It's actually quite warm today here in Montana...I think it's in the 20s (Rachel must be shivering just reading that 20 degrees is WARM!!!) and I think today will be a good day. I did 5 miles for the Triathalon last night, and it was quite a work out...but I am not sore at all today, I actually feel a little bit skinnier! It's probably just psychological...but last time I did a treadmill workout, I weighed myself the next day and had lost 2lb!

          So I'm focusing on drinking my water today, as always, and going to the gym after work to do an upper body workout.

            Good morning all,

            I see everyone's checking in. I love it. NYC is freezing as well (30 degrees). I got off to a great start this morning at 6:30 am I got on my Bowflex Treadclimber for 30 minutes. If any of you know anything about this machine it's a hybrid (Treadmill, Stairclimber & Elliptical);which means your actually doing three motions at once. In keeping with that 30 minutes may not sound like a whole lot, but you actually burn 300 calories in 30 minutes (double work in 1/2 the time). Woooohoooo! In addition, I've already put away 64 oz.

            Let's keep it going.

              Well we're sitting at about 7 degrees or so, which makes me crabby because I hate hate hate being cold. I can never warm up. And the kids will want to go outside today - which is totally necessary for them otherwise they will climb the walls in the house. So I've gotta get myself warm psychologically, I think.

              Working on drinking all that water, although today I think its all gonna be HOT water.

              Taking a shower this morning and noticed my "chest" is looking quite a bit different. They are shrinking. Ok, I knew this would happen. But man, so fast? Grrr.

              Ok, I'm done whining.

                chasin--mine are shrinking too and I don't have that much to start with!

                Harlem--I'd always wondered about those things...man I could handle if it were elliptical and treadmill, but stairclimbers just KILL me! Keep up the great work, lady!

                  Good morning! I think it was around 60 degrees this morning in California, maybe high 50's! Chilly for us southern Californians. It will be a beautiful day here today.

                  Welcome Nichole!

                  Me, I'm doing great. Here's a confession, though. I just finished week #3 on this WOE, right? Well, before I started, I walked regularly, every day at work, usually 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon. On the first week of Atkins, with induction flu, loss of energy, etc., I didn't walk. The next week, it was raining a couple of days, and I didn't walk. Last week, we had very strong winds, and I didn't walk. I'm noticing a pattern here.....

                  I didn't walk yesterday, and I've already missed my window of opportunity to walk this morning, but guess what???? I will walk this afternoon! And, I will walk tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day.....

                    Hi all:

                    Speaking of exercise I did my 3x a week spin class last night and did lose 2 pounds. I love that class. We did a little over 10 miles and alot of steep climbs! It just feels good, and let me tell you I am the last one to ever expect to say that! I had a huge breakthrough. I am addicted to soda, caffien etc. Yesterday and on Saturday I went to the store and got a glass of ice water refill. I could not believe it. I finally replaced my 44oz drink with water!!! It is an effort, but chugging along!

                    In arizona (central) it was 22 this morning but it has warmed up nicely. We should see the upper fifties so it will be another great workout day!

                        Juli...finally getting boobs was one of the advantages to having babies. Gosh darnit anyway. Now I can be self conscious about them disappearing. What a cruel trick that has been played on me!

                        Yep, congrats on making the switch to water. Its not easy...but you won't regret it!

                              Hey Folks,
                              I am here..a bit late on the check in, but made it in to post. Out early this morning with errands. Back home and calling it a day. Had buffalo wings for lunch and gonna have them again for dinner with veggies. Day 1 almost over...made it so far. Should be back in ketosis by Thursday........
