  • Need your input!

So, For the past week and a half now. I'll eat my dinner, and be up for two hours or so, and go to bed. Then I wake up in the middle of the night with Like, gut wrenching hunger. I eat my dinner, and I am satisfied. What gives? Like I am truely hungry. Hungry enough where some nights I couldn't sleep right away after I woke up. Two nights last week, it this hunger woke me up twice and the second time I had trouble getting back to sleep. Like, last night I went to bed at... 9... Ive woken up with it at.. 1130pm with it.. I finished my dinner by 745pm. I've noticed that on two occasions I've woken up twice with that hunger. I'll go in the kitchen, and have some water.. make myself go back to sleep. Please, help!

I've always been a middle of the night eater... it's like a joke in my family....

why not have something like cubes of cheese handy where you can grab one.. drink water.. then go back to sleep?

Hi Pumababi, I don't know why this would happen, since we're not supposed to be hungry, or go hungry. All I can think of is perhaps it is too late for you to eat that close to bedtime, and that you are eating more carbs (in vegetable form) at that time, compared to your fat and protein ratio. But I'm not an expert at this--just trying to help with what could be wrong. Like peytonn says, have someyhing with zero to hardly any carbs. My food of choice for times when I am hungry is pepperoni (0 carbs) or a bite or two of pork, chicken or an egg. After a while, it's amazing how even a two slices of pepperoni can be so filling to the point of not being hungry any more.

Puma, could it be the stress of this time of the year with examines and papers and your cousin being in the hospital??? You can't sleep and your body is calling for food because of all the stress???
I know you are in a tight time right now, but soon it will pass....

some people find taking calcium helps them sleep, maybe it would help keep you asleep?
