  • 12/18 It's Monday!!!! Check In Please

    Good Morning STAC. It's humid and warm for December here in Central Louisiana @ 6:26 a.am. How wonderful it is to be facing a Monday and smile...to have energy so that I feel like running. God is good. Atkins is good. Hubby cooked some pretty darn good steaks last night. I had some brussel sprouts and they were awesome. 14 days are behind me and this morning the scale went down again. I'll take that everytime. Now it's time to wake everyone else up and get ready for the day. I hope you all have a great week. Hey some people will have short weeks. I work till Thursday afteroon and don't go back until Tuesday Yay!!!!. Oh and I wore some of my 14 jeans again yesterday for the first time in 3 months. That felt good. I am glad to know that pretty soon I can fit into all my other stuff I used to wear that is sitting there collecting dust.

      Goodmorning, Nicole, great job opening the thread today..How nice to come into such a positive place! It's great to be having success with Atkins, and we have success when we work the program and trust it to work for us.
      I've been reading Chp 21 of the DANDR...Keeping control, watching out for unreasonable expectations, not readdicting ourselves...Very good read and reminders.
      I am fighting a cold and when I got on my bike this morning I thought, "oh this is going to be hard, it's like my legs were drained of all energy.." I pressed thru for 5.5 miles.
      Just what I needed to stay on top of the routine...
      Off to school, have a great day everybody and stay focused!!!! 2007 is coming and we will be ready to meet it, with our great outlook!

        Hey all! Nichole--congrats on those jeans! It feels so good to be shrinking instead of expanding, doesn't it? I love that feeling...

        Lauren--you have my sympathy. This must be the absolute worst week EVER to work in retail...I worked in a photo lab during college and remembered the HUGE run on those greeting cards the week before...sometimes I'd ask the people, what's the rush? If you're doing these cards now, they won't make it to Aunt Myrtle's house by Christmas anyway, why do they *have* to be done in an hour? LOL

        Jess--way to press through! I have days like that too...it's kind of a scary feeling...like last week I was totally drained after 1.5 miles on the treadmill...but then I have days like Saturday where I do 5 on the treadmill, 5 on the bike, and I feel like I could go forever!

        I have a short work week--only 2.5 days! Since ALL of the students just had their concert, we will be taking it easy, watching the tape of the performance, and evaluating how we did--evaluation and analyzing is soooo important for musicians...it's learning from our mistakes and celebrating our successes. Very much like Atkins, huh?

          Good morning everyone. I have a million things to do today. I'd like to think I'm done with shopping. Actually, I'm having too much fun doing it all and have always thrived on the last minute hurry this that will go on this week.

            Morning morning! I have to either find my tennis shoes once and for all today, or break down and go buy a new pair, lol. It is getting too cold for sandals and working out in them isn't good! I just had my first flax cookie, yum yum, though my tummy is making strange noises, hehe. Have a great day everybody!

              Hey everyone! Kids are out of school and have company over .. I hear them moving about and giggling.. I'm excited as this year I'm totally way ahead of schedule with purchases and wrapping! EVERYTHING is wrapped THAT is huge!! Normally I miss all the festivities and stay home and wrap. my mom usually comes to help. Not this year!

              I just ate lunch - boneless/skinless chicken breasts dipped in ranch/whipping cream and then rolled in season ground pork rinds, baked until crunchy! MMM So good to eat this well. I have jicama in the fridge calling me too! MMM and chayote squash

              Gotta make time for the gazelle... it's a busy week!

                Good morning everybody -- yes, I love this positive place, too! I'm fortunate enough to be able to check in occasionally while at work. It sure does help, especially on a bad work day like today.

                  Still hanging in there. I got a cold this weekend and I have been struggling with the temptaions. I have checked my ketosis and I have never been higher, one strip was in the large amount range! However this morning the scale said I was up 2 pounds from yesterday. Is it possible to be inketosis and not lose, but gain or is it just a body on this day thing? Whatever it is I will keep pluggin away. I have been doing this long enough to know that it jumps from day to day. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

                    Yep1, just keep plugging away, our bodies swing a pound or two, I am in ketosis and up 2 lbs...maybe its salt consumption, maybe i am holding water from my cycle maybe I am holding water from changing workouts and holding more in my muscles...what goes up usually comes right back down...Keep plugging away!!!

                      Hey Guys,
                      Good Monday Morning. Everything going good on this end! Got the majority of my Chirstmas shopping out of the way and plan to do the rest online. I am happy I don't have to be a part of the crazy crowds out there.
                      My intentions were to weigh myself at the end of December, but got on the scale anyway this morning. Lost a few pounds.......I don't know how much because I jumped off of if quickly! I have these notches on my scale that you can move up and down to where your weight is. I noticed that the scale hand was no longer aligned with my marker but UNDER it...indicating that I lost a bit. Exciting!!

                      Anyway...hope all is having a wonderful Monday Morning. I will be jumping on my stationary bike and then taking a warm bath!!!

                        Hey everybody!

                        I'm back from a fun and extremely exhausting weekend. Saturday was my daughter's big 'Sweet Sixteen' party. I was up for 20 hours straight organizing the decorating committee, catering, music, hosting and clean up. I've been so drained for the last two days I can't believe it. In addition to not eating, I had a piece of Red Velvet cake. I don't know what type of reaction I'm having because I feel extremely drained, weak and hung for over, like I had alcohol and I didn't. I feel horrible. I'm dragging around like a rag doll. Do you think piece of cake is what did it or just a combination of events and the cake?


                        I made it cheat free for 74 day before eating that slice of cake at the birthday party. I didn't go to work to day, I've been laying around all day trying to get my rest and I still feel jacked up. I'm working to get back on track on Tuesday.

                          Hey Chris, I had a 'blowout' that involved corn tortilla and yellow rice. Ugh. Anyway, I've been lethargic and have had a headache for the last 2 days since then. I would imagine that's what is happening to you too.

                          Just get right back to it.

                          I've had my water today, I ate semi-well. I had a piece of fruit, otherwise everything was rung 1. Got 1 mile of exercise in.

                            Well, I'm late, but I'm here! I've really got to work on my water consumption. I find that the colder it gets here, the less I drink water. So I really need to work on that this next week. Its nice to be back here after being away since Friday. I missed you all!

                              Well, i fought off whatever it was that was making me bloated and dehydrated, and am back to square one. Well, square one from before that happened. :P I haven't lost a single ounce since december 1st, and I'm kind of bummed about it. I guess I shouldn't worry about it, it'll come off eventually. But what with TOM and then this weird bloatedness, I've lost nothing. Well, we'll see I guess. At least I haven't gained!
