  • The Official 1st week weight in

    Good Mornin Yall,

OK those of you who read my scale drama yesterday this is for you.I stepped on this morning and got the official 254 lb.reading.That is 6lbs from where I was last week at this time.

Isnt the first week water weight loss?
This time around I havent seemed to have had the major Induction illness I had for a while last time.Last time I had horrible headaches for the first 2 weeks and would got hot flashes and lightheaded a bit then I got my burst of energy. It hasnt been quite as bad so far.Is that typically normal for the STAC.
But also I am suffering from a sinus infection and I am blamming all of my health related issues on that right now.So who knows.

These goals maybe pushing it but I am gonna give it my all.

Yes, at first your weight loss is water weight, but when you start ketosis you start losing fat, too. I went into ketosis 3 days after I started induction.

Hey I'm with you on the ocd. I used to weigh every day, but now I'm terrified to step on the scale for fear that I won't show any improvement. No improvement leads to a bum day. I think I'll try and weigh tomorrow.

That's great kram! I usually lose like 3-4 pounds of water weight initially - I think what you lose in the first 3-4 days is the water and after that it starts burning fat. When I slip and cheat *cough* I usually gain about 2 pounds immediately, so I figure that's my water retention average.

However, it really depends on how much you weigh and how much you have to lose. If you have a lot to lose you could be retaining more water than that, it's hard to say. but after a week, you should be in ketosis by now and starting to lose fat. Yay!

Congrats Kram...Be prepared some times you don't loose weight! Sometimes you gain a pound or two. Don't be afraid, keep it all in perspective! Sometimes it will be close to TOM, sometimes maybe too much salt, sometimes it will be your muscles holding water from working out...
Keep your eyes on making it thru each day, developing routines, and going for the long haul..It you keep your focus on the scale and numbers you could easily frustrate yourself and battle just staying on the diet....

Hey Kram...glad to see you figured out the scale issue. 6 lbs sound about right. I lose slowly the 1st week of induction due to it taking me 3 days to get into ketosis. Until that 3rd day, I dont lose anything...the scale doesn't change and if it does, it may be only 1 lb. I do better towards the end of the 1st week and then a lot better the 2nd week since it is a full week of actually being in ketosis.

I seem to bypass the "induction flu". I don't seem to get the symptoms, but I do get cravings pretty bad when others post here say that their cravings go away and they seem to be losing their appetites. Glad to hear that you are fighting through those symptoms and still truckin' along!!

            Keep up the good work!
