  • I am here, I need this

    Dec.26. I am here, I need to be here for my focus...Some are breaking down, some are breaking thru, and some have broken free!
    What ever, which ever don't quit. Some of you need to be here alot today, for focus, for joy, for your positive sense of community.

    Just like many, it's a moment of testing for me. I am tested to deal in a very stressful unexpected moment. I need to stay focused on what I am doing, and where I am going...When I walk out the door today, it' won't be to the mall or the friends house, but to the hospital, where my Mom was admitted at 1am today. I think she'll be fine.

    But here's what is IMPORTANT...Focus, and preparation to hang on to all I've got! Breaking thru my "fearful" places...You know those places where you are not in control of all the food served, or of the tensions in the situations...
    You can and I can do this..
    I need this place, because I can find focus here, support here and people are watching to see if "my words line up with my actions"..."Are you for real Jess?". I hope to be able to say "yes"...This is me!

    I agree with Jess...yesterday could have been a difficult day for many people...it could have been "the end" for some, or the ultimate temptation.

    I hope that the STACers pulled through and are still on plan, or if they had a bump and fell off, are BACK ON PLAN.

      This is a good place to come for focus and thought. You're right Jess.

      Let us know how your Mom is. 's to you.
      You'll stay strong and focused, you are just by this post.
      Life happens, as Juli said if you had a bump in the road....make the next meal Atkins friendly. Stay the course. You are worth it! You can do it! We deserve to be healthy and happy!

        Hello everybody. Jess, I sincerely hope your mom is okay. Please let us know how she's doing.

        I'm back on plan today -- I hit a little bump yesterday, but I was strong enough to accept it as that -- a bump. When I went to bed last night, I already had my focus set in place for today.

        I've got a couple of sickies at home today, plus I'm on vacation today, trying to avoid the germs in the house, while still taking care of my little sickies. Guess I'll be washing my hands a lot!

        Juli, I love your new pics! You're looking fabulous! Cute boyfriend, too!!

          Jess, I needed this post today. Really.

          Thank you.

          The "platter" of sweets in the kitchen that my Aunt gave us last night has been my obsession since last night. I'll admit I've had about 6 small nibbles out of it...and I've been obsessing about it all day...even though I haven't been IN my house since 5AM until just now at 5PM.

          Anyway....I will *NOT* eat it. I'm going to go out there right now and ask my DH (to be polite instead of making his eating decisions for him...but I KNOW he'll tell me ok) if I can throw it all away...and, of course, pour dish soap on them.

            The bad food is dumped in the trash....and I had 2 more nibbles before I got it there. Gah! At least they REALLY WERE nibbles and not full out handfuls of junk shoved in my mouth which is what I *wanted* to do.

            I've been reading about others struggles here at Christmas as well, and other's successes. I needed to read both. Had I not come here to ADBB, I WOULD have given in. No doubt about it.

              It indeed has been a struggle for all of us, Joy. Way to go!

              There's some cake in my kitchen that I'm obsessing over. I'm gonna let it sit there through tonight so that the kids can have one last piece. Then the rest gets tossed. I nibbled on it yesterday, but I'm not going to today. I had a little piece of low carb chocolate today, which really helped me get through my cravings.

              I'm on my way into the kitchen now to have some leftover ham. Yum!

                You can Do it!!! I am a second time arounder and feel better this time around then the first. I found within the past 2 days on Atkins is you need to make Atkins work for you and have Atkins friendly foods and snacks in the house at all times. I'm not a big fan of eggs so, I have a ham salad for breakfast or a ham roll-up with some celery. If you need the sweet or like the cakes try the Atkins Corn Cake mix (nice and sweet and Atkins Friendly). Or keep the Atkins friendly candies and chocolate around. Please, note...just because it is an Atkins snack or treat...keep it a snack and not over endulge because all the foods we eat has calories and cals can add up.
                You have a ton of support here in this forum...Make this time on Atkins work for you.

                  I also really needed this post, Thanks Jess. I just didn't realize how awsome it is and how proud i should be to have made it through these holidays with no problems. I didn't cheat, I didn't crave, and I didn't GIVE UP! I am so proud of myself. Thanks to everyone here for the support!
