    What is the induction flu? Fat fast? I am reconsidering starting induction tomorrow 12/28/06 I was going to wait until 1/1/07 what do you recommend? , coming back to adkins for the second time after being off for 1 1/2 year due to pregnancy. First time on adkins I went from 198 to 160 in 2 months. I am weighing 189, I had my baby 6 months ago. Need help before I gain more!! Any quick simple ideas for mom of three, for breakfast, usually rushing to get to work by 8am.

    Induction flu is what happens when your body is switching from burning carbs to burning fat (ketosis). As far as when to start, I'm not sure. I guess that would be your preference. If it were me I'd start right away, but that is because I am committed to the diet. Here's an idea for breakfast. Take pre cooked steak or sausage and add it to three eggs and throw them into a buttered skillet or light oil on medium heat. Add an ounce of shredded cheese. Scramble together. Should only take about 5 minutes and you can adjust the amount easily for more people. Oh yeah, don't forget salt and pepper.

      I started today and well, I am not looking forward to the flu....but it will happen no matter when I start so may as well get it over with as soon as possible. I am very excited this time around and I plan on reaching my goals. Good luck to you, and when the flu hits remember that someone else is probably suffering with it too...me!

        I would start as soon as possible! Most likely you'll get the induction flu, yeah, so why not just get it over with and start losing weight now? You CAN do some things to make the flu less painful--drink LOTS of water, take your vitamins/supplements, and take a pain reliever for headache.

          The sooner the better, get good food in the house, get the tylenol or advil ready, eat all the good foods you can, and give yourself loads of rest and slowly take it from there...drinking water, taking walks, reading the BOOK!
          Especially if you have time this week to yourself!
