    Happy New Year STACers,
It's a brand new year. Today is the beginning of a new start, a fresh start and a whole new year. I am so excited! I have arrived at a date I picked out long ago. It's not what I weight, it's "WHO I AM BECOMING" that I am so proud of today.
I have control over eating, drinking and exercise!
    I have self confidence
    I feel great
    My future is bright
I can do what I set out in my mind to do and accomplish!
    I am an overcomer again!
I am stronger than I thought I would be at this moment in time.

One of my dreams was to be here today, feeling the way I do. How did this happen, little by little, step by step...one day at a time.
    • I focused on low carb foods,
    • never went out without a plan of what I would eat and when I would eat it.
    • Called ahead at resturants,
    • took baggies of food to parties.
    • Politely declined some invitations that were too much.
    • Never went into a highly tempting situation alone,
    • always took a water bottle to a social function with foods.
    • Exericsed 6 days a week, regardless.
    • Went to bed when tired!
    • Got up very early to come here and focus,
    • kept the right grocheries in the house.
    • Let the bad days roll off my back.
    • Kept educating myself on lowcarbing
    • Kept educating myself on exercise
    • Took positive action with my knowledge base
    • Got involved here in a "pay it forward" opportunity
Today I should be on top of the world! Emotionally I am tired and stressed and at a difficult moment in a surprising unexpected holiday situaiton of having my elderly Mother in the hospital. I share that for the newbies who think somehow this all might be easy, or just a bunch of nice sayings. There is a price to pay for the success Atkins brings. You pay that price every single meal, every single day, no matter what is happening. The wonderful thing is if you work hard,AND pay up, you will find great success, energy, weightloss, and a strengthening of your whole life. The promises of the Atkins way of life are true!!! For those of us to whom the diet is tailored, IT WILL DELIVER!

To the newbies I would say, "know why you are doing this" don't think short term, "when I get off this diet"...Atkins is a way of life and a way of eating for life. Know why you are doing it! Do NOT cheat, because it will reverse all that you have done, and put you back into the cycle of carbs controlling you.
Know why you are doing it, KNOW what to do, and just do it, and know we are here for you.

    Re: Happy New Year

Thank you so much for posting this! You have done a great job Jess! I am here and have a more stable plan. Ive really got no reason to let anything take this from me. I know what I will need to do eveyday, and Im not gonna let other people opinions change what I want to do for myself. I know it will be hard, but why change what I eat for someone else? They are not dealing with my struggles. It should be on them if they dont like things in my life. I am happy with the choices I want to make, and from now on Im making them whether its liked or not. Thanks again Jess!
