    Welcome to STAC check in. It's a roll call and an opportunity to rally together everyday...WE get use to seeing each other here, and commenting to each other. That's what will make this community strong again, after the holidays have limited our time and focus.

    We all need each other. To encourage each other to get going, or keep going.

    Remember Atkins is a ketogenic diet, we are all working to get into ketosis, so that our appetite diminishes, our cravings calm way down and our energy goes way up AND WE BURN OUR OWN FAT STORES. You can't play around with carbs, you must limit them at first to induction levels so your body begins to burn your fat for fuel. We acutally run better on our fat stores than our carb loads...THEN YOU CAN MOVE TO THE RUNGS, in ongoing weight loss. The book needs to be a constant source of direction and motivation.
    The blood sugars will begin to even out and our moods will reflect a stability.
    We feel stronger and excited and it provokes us to keep drinking the water and exercise...
    The exericse will release endorphines which will make us feel wonderful after we feel terrible exercising...

    If you are new, keep close and post, start a journal in journal chats. Focus on the 3 big things, water, low carb foods, and exercise...YOU NEED ALL 3...
    Make these your top priority. Plan and prepare...stay focused and work hard, it will create a lifestyle that will cause you to looseweight and maintain weight loss... Oh yeah and DON"T watch the scales every five minutes, they don't move like that and it could cause you to risk quitting...Be patient and get into a flow and rhythm with this way of life...nothing works instantly here, so you can then go back...GOING BACK WILL CAUSE YOUR WEIGHT TO GO RIGHT BACK UP!!! GO BACK AND YOU FLIP WITH METABOLIC SWITCH BACK TO STORING CARBS AS FAT. Think about that.

    Today I am so exited for many reasons. My oldest daughter is going back to school today. Im happy so I can get stuff done, but Ill miss her being around. We will here how the inspection went on our house and if any whining was done. I got some pork ribs and peperoncinis and gonna throw them in the crockpot. I will be going to the Y later tonight, so I will get my exercise in. I didnt lose as much today as I thought I would, but anything is better than nothing. I need to crack a lack on the water. I KNOW Im not getting enough. so today will be a good day I hope.

          Jess--great post as always!

          It's my first day back to work from Christmas Break...I'm moving slowly, seems I'm not the ONLY teacher who is! Everyone has this look of shock on their faces...apparently vacation wasn't long enough! But it will be good to get back into the routine, get back to my old schedule. It was tough drinking all my water at home, I don't know why. SO I'm looking forward to drinking my gallon+ again!

          Tonight I'm going to the gym to do arms and some bike miles...MUST...FINISH...THIS...TRIATHALON!!

            Hi everybody! Today is a GREAT day. I'm so glad to be back to work. How sad is that? But, you want to know why I'm glad to be back to work? ROUTINE. I work my Atkins MUCH MUCH better when I have my routines. When I'm at work, I eat breakfast, I drink my water, I eat a good lunch and dinner. I exercise. I'm more in control when I have my routines.

            So, I'm a very happy camper today. I've already had 64 ounces of water this morning, and I had 3 sausage links and a slice of jicama for breakfast. I am the jicama queen! LOL

            For lunch I've brought my exercise clothes and will pick up something at lunch time to eat from the cafeteria. Dinner will be at my grandmother's house, there will be something there for me to eat too...and if not, I do have plenty at home I can grab (including some Alaskan King Crab mmmmm).

                  Hi! I'm Cathryn and Im restarting after having lost 65 pounds waaaaay back in 2001.

                  I kept it off rather well, but slowly and surely.... I puffed back up, like a Marshmallow!

                  But, Im back! And this time - it's for good.

                    Day 7 for me. I was off on my days before the week went by so fast. One week in and I feel good. Last two days I excersized. Starting to get a routine going. I go back to work (part time) next Monday and I too will be happy to have a set routine to follow once again. Why do kids need 2 weeks at Christmas? LOL

                        This is crazy. 2 years ago 270 pounds (5'10"), went on Atkins and lost 60 pounds in five months, I was doing great! Then I fell, no threw myself off the wagon and gained back 40 pounds, yikes! Joined a gym and went on a calorie restricted diet and lost 50 pounds, but I was starving and miserable. Guess who gained it all back? So here find myself 11 months to the day from my 30th birthday. I need to make this change. I've done well in the past so I have great hope. Plus this time I'm trying to make the commitment to myself to share what's going on with my loss (i.e. writing this is BIG for me). So thanks for the ear while I ramble on.
