Tonight I was making my daughter some pasta and I went to check it for done-ness. I popped a piece in my mouth chewed it up and swallowed without even thinking twice about it. Of course I realized after what a bonehead thing I just did. I am sure a single piece of fusilli pasta wont derail me but I am amazed at how automatic some things are.

I do that too. Do the mashed potatoes need salt? Is the sauce to hot for my son? I make three meals a day in my home & I didn't even realize how much I was consuming. It really shows you how "empty calories" add up.

Same here! I've even been out to dinner, ate a good meal and then popped the after dinner mint in my mouth without thinking!

Lol me too. I had a McDonalds cheeseburger in my open mouth and just before I bit down I realized it still had the bun on it.

Old habits die hard... but they *do* still die if you stab them or kick them in the head enough times.
