Good morning STACers, so many newbies on the boards, or new friends coming around again! That's what we have in common a return to the diet we believe in and are going to work back into in our lives.

It's a great diet, and one that we can all loose weight on! It leads us to energy, and healthy habits of water drinking eating low carb and that wonderful thing called exercise!!!!

    How is everybody today???

Hangin' in here. I think TOM is approaching, so I am, ya know, crying at the long distance commercials again. It's overcast here and I HATE gray days...this is the second one in a row and my tolerance wears thin after one! LOL. /grumpy morning rant

OTHER THAN THAT - I feel pretty darn good. Hubby says this morning when I walked into the kitchen "you're looking skinnier!" OK, so he's a major suck-up and predisposed to exaggeration, but I'll take it! Though, I wouldn't go right to anything like skinny. Breakfast was bacon, eggs, and tomatoes and I'm already working on the water...You hear that TOM?

    Great day everyone!

Kylie, *nodding* I cry at the Hallmark commercials when TOM is around.

I had a breakfast of eggs and sausage and 59 ounces of water. I actually TOOK supplements this morning. I'm not very good at remembering to take them, it's something I've got to work on.

Today I plan to do a lower body weight workout over at the fitness center during lunch. I've brought all my clothes to work and I'm ready to go.

I am guzzling my water, ate my omelet and just killing some time before I have to teach a piano lesson this a.m.

Unfortunately, I woke up feeling sick again this morning, but this feels like a head cold or something. My head is pounding, my sinuses feel stuffed. UGH. And it's making me slightly nauseous. So I'll just keep drinking my water, hoping it goes away or abates somewhat. I've got a full day of teaching, tutoring, and kickboxing ahead of me.

        Have a great day, all!

I am just puttering today on my day off. I'm only working part-time right now while I work on getting my cosmetology liscense--allllllmost there, yay!!.

I am about to consume a nice breakfast of a juicy piece of pan fried ham, with two over medium fried eggs and chedddar cheese piled on top and a nice cup of hot tea for breakfast. Then I will head over to the rec center and do my running. I'm just a running fool these days. I love to fantasize about those perfect outfits while I'm running, my fun summer ahead of concerts and Mexico (hopefully, that one is not a sure thing yet!), and all of my cuteness just being way too much for my boyfriend to handle. I was always good at running it in high school and it feels good to come back to something athletic and realize "hey, I'm kind of good at this!" It's so calming to me-- like meditating!

Then I'll just come home and putter around and do chores. I've been working on a cookbook of recipes I use, and I'll probably make another batch of my current addiction of parmesean cheese chips and indulge with a diet orange soda as a snack.

oh--and julirama--I play guitar and piano, too! BUT, I am mostly a singer, I only play a little piano and more guitar, but just to write songs. In fact one of my "Holy crap I'm fat" pictures that I will use in my before and after is of me on stage at a summer music festival a few years back (when I thought I was a hippie). Nice to have another music girl here! And BTW, I LOVE your current picture, you look totally cute!

            Hey Gang!

Extremely crazy days ahead. I had one of my staff members come to me yesterday with a note excusing her the rest of the week, which means I am at work open to close (6:30 to 6). I had to go to the store last night to stock up on good stuff, when my old pal Peanut M&m's came calling. But I said no, I won't do that to myself or my new WOL. So I got the latest issue of Glamour and a face mask, for relaxation. I'd rather spend $10 on feel good stuff, rather than feel bad food, because I know the ramifications. So take that bad habits, there's a new sheriff in town!

Hope everyone else is making good choices!

Re: Wed Morning Check in 1/17

Hey everyone, im doing pretty good today, I thank everyone that had a good word for me yesterday, i stayed strong and stayed on plan, and to be honest food was the farthest thing from my mind when i was being all emotional that is a first for me, i think im scared to even go there scared of finding that point of no return, so it is more of being scared i think than willpower. I hate the way i felt before with all the bloating and feeling like i had no control and now that i do i dont want to give it up.

I made it to the gym again this morning yay, i did 20 minutes on the treadmill just a little over a mile and then i did some weight lifting for my upper body, not really sure how to do all the weight training do i need to just focus on cardio or go ahead and do both, i just did both today, dont want to get bulky though and dont want to end up all flabby either so any advice would be appreciated, i also did my 30 crunches, they have this machine that helps you with crunches since that seems to be the hardest part of my body to work but the one that needs the most attention, but i do good with that machine and you use weights with it so you get a better workout.

Well i will check in later, i hope you all have a great day!!!!

Re: Wed Morning Check in 1/17

Hi guys! I'm here! Doing good. Went to the gym last night and did both the stairmaster and lifted weights.

I have a question for you guys. Even if you use the 2002 DANDR with net carbs, do you ever think about your total number of carbs? During the past week, I have been a little low on the net carbs but have gone over 20 total carbs and instead of eating more, I don't really want to because I think of how the very first time I was on this diet, back in college, there wasn't such a thing as net carbs? Just wondering. Also, I've been graphing my average carbs by averaging all of the carbs for the week because they are not exact every day. I can't remember what I did 3 years ago.....How many carbs do you guys vary from day to day? I'm afraid it will affect me when I'm trying to find my CCLL but I can't hit exactly 20 nets carbs per day - the fiber is too much of a variable to get it exactly.

Manda - good job on staying away from the peanut m&m's!! I smelled the bread in the cafeteria today and told myself the same thing! Because when I used to eat bread, I felt like poop all afternoon and it was such a miserable cycle.

PigsInSpace - I love hearing about your daydreams while running. Those are great! BTW, my DH plays guitar and writes song. If you visit www.acidplanet.com, he is "brokemojo" on there. He wishes he could do it for a living.

                    Wonder Woman--
My carbs vary daily...I haven't found my CCLL yet, but I haven't really been working to hard at it. (I know, beat me with a wet noodle.) I've been staying under 40, usually around 30. Yesterday I was only at like, 21. The day before that I was at 32. The day before THAT I was at 36. Today, I might only be at 24. I KNOW that once you figure out your CCLL you're supposed to eat around that level most of the time. Not EVERYDAY, you can eat lower if it happens, but generally speaking, you need to eat around your specific carb level. But, I'm also not monkeying with it this month because of that no-weigh challenge.

Lisa, check out this article http://www.thinkmuscle.com/articles/volk/women-iron.htm

Then take a look at what six weeks of weight training did for me from february to April last year http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=28045

Then get thee to the gym and start pumping some iron baby!

Wonderwoman--always count net carbs NEVER total carbs. Your body cannot digest fiber and you shouldn't count it. Don't worry about hitting 20 net exactly, I don't know a person who could do that every day. Eat what you will within that ONE limitation. When you get to OWL, you add 5 net carbs of whatever you previous week's average would have been. It's not exact science.

Good morning everybody -- I've been sick -- caught that cold that was going around, but I'm feeling a lot better today. As long as my head is clear, I can work and function. If my head is stuffy, forget it!

By the way, I saw something on the news last night about a woman who was in some sort of contest with a Sacramento (I think it was Sacramento) radio station to win a "Wii" game. The contest was to see who could drink the most water without going to the bathroom. Whoever drank the most would win the contest. One of the contestants DIED from water intoxication! I can't remember how much water these people drank, but another contestant quit after she started vomiting!! They interviewed her last night, and apparently vomiting is one of the symptoms of water intoxication.

Did anybody else hear about that? I didn't look at the board yesterday, so I hope I'm not duplicating anybody elses post.

I remember seeing some posts here on our board about being careful not to guzzle too much water at one time. Please be careful when you're trying to get all of your water in for the day! I'm sure that we are all intelligent and would certainly notice any strange symptoms after drinking a lot of water, but please just be aware of what your body tells you.
