  • HELP!!!Anyone not losing weight??

    Hey everyone! I'm getting very discouraged. I've done atkins SEVERAL times over the last 8 years and lost weight but didn't stick with it long until 2003. I finally decided this was the life for me and stuck to it. I weighed 214 the day I started and in 8 months was hitting the scales between 163-165!! I loved it!! Well I became pregnant with my 3rd baby in 2004 and was getting sick alot and the thought of meat and eggs was making it worse, so I came off the diet. After i had my baby I waited a few weeks to give my body time to readjust to not being pregnant(I was not breastfeeding)and started the diet again. In 2 months I had only lost about 8 lbs. and I got discouraged,thought maybe I hadn't give my body enough time so I came off of it awhile tried again and same thing. After several tries between in 2005 and 2006 with not much luck, I finally on New Years told myself I was going to start again strictly. And that is what I have done. Well I weighed in at 220 on January 2 and today(15 days later) I have only lost 1 lb. and 1/4 of an inch off my waist!!!! Has anyone ever had this happen to them and how did you get through it. I like the diet but if I'm not losing any weight, what's the point? I am very desperate to lose this weight. I feel like I am in someone else's body. Before kids I never weighed over 160. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Hang in there. I have been on since Dec. 27th. I can safely say for the first two weeks I probably lost no more than 3 lbs (I am not weighing myself right now...its a head trip thing for me). I was getting discouraged but I was in no way contemplating quitting....after all I was losing, and more importantly I wasnt gaining. Today my husband commented on how much flatter my tummy is looking, and my pants are getting really loose. And I feel great! Not hungry all the time, satisfying yummy food, and yes losing weight. I know it is going much slower now, but it is still going, and that is what you have to focus on. Some of us just arnt going to drop the weight as quickly as we did before. Just be happy to know that you are on the right track, and it will come off in time.

      Well, I am on second time around and have been for 10 days. I am not noticing drastic changes in the scale (I think it's only gone down 2 lbs). The first time, your body just drops water and weight and everything in between like crazy. BUT, it WILL work because it's science.

      I have been on this WOL for 2 years now. Whenever I feel like the WOE is doing not good or not working fast enough I just have faith in the science. Like flying airplanes. No one could possibly believe a big 10 ton machine can get in the sky. But science says it will.

      Eventhough I am not dropping pounds like crazy, my clothes are fitting better and for me, that's all I need to know. As long as my clothes keep fitting better and I keep going to my smaller sizes, that's all I need. In only 10 days, I see barely a pound or two off the scale, but my tight pants are DEFINITELY LOOSER.

      Please exercise, that kicks everything into gear.

        I"m not noticing much now... about 8 pounds the first 2 weeks.. since then.. nothing...

        but I'm sticking to it pretty well.... stix are purple... so I'm believing that it's all going to work... AND... I'm stopping with the scales for a while...

        5-10-10 169.8 - 25 pounds gone!

          We're going to need a *lot* more information from you to even begin to try to help.


          1. Please give a couple of days worth of menus. If it went in your mouth, list it and how much of it there was. This includes dressings, etc.

          2. How much water are you drinking a day? Soda? Tea? Coffee? How much?

          3. Are you on any meds? Having any health issues?

          4. Where are you in your monthly cycle? Is TOM close?

          5. What are you doing for exercise? How much and how often?
