    Re: Tired of judgmental people

Sprocket, I have to say this: you look amazing! Wow, 130 pounds gone, that must feel incredible! Go you!!!

I never ever mention the word atkins to people - I am not sure that i really do atkins the way it's meant to be done anyway, so it would be a misnomer. :P I just tell people what I've always said - that I'm doing the 3 walls of the supermarket diet. I used to do that years ago in college - I'd just skip the middle of the store and eat what was along the outside of it. Little did I know back then that that's.....*drumroll* ATKINS!

But, apparently telling people that I am trying to eat real food doesn't work anymore, because it's been tainted with the low-carb-fad brush I guess. But, really, that is what I'm doing. I eat meat, veggies, some fruit, nuts, some dairy (butter, cream, fage yogurt), eggs, etc... One day I'll eat whole grains when I get there. Why this is so incomprehensible to people is just beyond me.

Saying the words "low carb" can carry such a stigma! I tried to say "no sugar, no flour." Tell them I'm allergic, diabetic, whatever will shut them up! "Low-carb" starts a whole other conversation (much less saying "Atkins" - I can tell them that when I'm 150 and they won't be able to say much!).
