Move to a farm, raise your own meat That way, you know what it is injected with, has been fed, and how it has been treated.

Sometimes I feel like I'm working on a farm. I'm surrounded by animals.

Vegetables are already cloned, Miss Phode...

I wonder when the tide will turn, myself. But, as long as people keep buying their food at walmart and places like that, this will keep happening. The food isn't cheaper just because Sam is nice, it's cheaper because it's cheaply grown/raised and the meat is filled with water/flavoring to make it heavier. Last time I bought meat at walmart the package said it was filled with up to 20% liquid. That's 20% that's going to fry right out of that steak once it's warm. Ugh.

Well, I try to buy organic. I don't know what the helll difference any of it makes. Our whole planet is poisoned. Everyone gets cancer anymore. But I still try.

              Re: cloned meat

Organic just means no artificial chemicals were used, not that the food isn't cloned. Some plants are easier to reproduce from a cutting than a seed - a cutting is a clone.

                Re: cloned meat

                Ugh this grosses me out!

It's easy to buy locally raised beef here--which is what my boyfriend and I do. We buy it from the slaughterhouse where the locals get their stuff butchered. As for veggies...that somehow doesn't scare me as much that they're cloned. Because they have no brains. They don't make sounds.

Cloned animals...blechhhh I can just imagine some cow with 3 heads and 7 legs being cut up and butchered and I'd have no idea that I'd be eating a freak of nature...makes me want to puke.

I don't really understand what the problem is. The FDA has approved cloned animals for human consumptions and if the FDA says it OK then you KNOW it's got to be OK.

You do trust the government don't you?

                      Re: cloned meat

I think you are confusing genetic manipulation as in gene-splicing with genetic duplication of embryos from superior quality organisms to make clones. In the latter, they are just copies of normal animals. In the former, you get mutants.
