  • Sunday Check in

Hi all my fellow stacers, i hope everyone is having a great sunday morning. I just wanted to see how everyone is doing. Me myself im battling a chest cold right now and decided to stay home today and rest up, and my oldest daughter had been battling a head cold so we are home just resting. I feel great though other than that.

Last night i had this dream that i decided to cheat and indulge in macaroni and cheese and then it went all downhill from there, not sure why im dreaming of that lol but i know i feel so good that cheating is not something im going to negotiate with. This morning i was able to take one less packet of splenda in my coffee so i see my taste buds are changing. I think though im going to check into stevia as a sweetner instead of splenda, what do you all use if you use a sweetner just curious. Well im off and i will check in later.

Lisa--sorry to hear you're battling a cold. Take it easy and enjoy the rest!

I used to have dreams like that constantly, and I would be eating things in the dream that I didn't even WANT in real life. It was a mystery to me. Luckily they disappeared within a couple months, and I haven't had them since, with the exception of one a couple weeks ago--I think it was brought on by this no-weigh challenge anxiety. Mine seemed to be stress-related; once I got comfortable with the plan and my food options, they disappeared!

I like stevia as a sweetener--some say it has a bitter taste if you use too much, almost like anise, but either I've never noticed it or I've never used too much! I like that stevia doesn't make me crave things like splenda has a tendency to do. And stevia is natural, and has no carbs or calories. I have the liquid stuff, and I bought it at a healthfood store. It's not marketed as a sweetener, but a "supplement" to get past FDA bruhaha.

SO, today I'll be heading off to the gym with my boyfriend. I'm going to try for at least 5 miles on the treadmill, but we shall see how my legs hold up! I've been running for the past 3 days. Then I think we will watch a movie, veg out.

    Have a great day, all!

Julirama, sounds like a great day! Nothing like vegging out once you have your exercise out of the way. Lisa--sounds like you're attitude is right where it should be, good job!

It has been ucky at my house this weekend. My boyfriend was sick, sick SICK yesterday. We think it was food poisoning from P.F. Chang's shrimp he had on Friday. He's not 100% today and last night I woke up with a horrible bout of diarrhea (hey, if ou can't share it here, where can ya, right?). I'm also not 100% today, either. But I feel okay enough and I simply MUST go out today and buy some running shoes, for I want to get serious about running and I simply cannot stand my big ole clodhoppin' tennis shoes for one more treadmill session!

And then you know what else? I think I'm going to buy myself a treat, too. I've been wanting new rings for about a year now. It seems like I don't have any cool and stylish rings to adorn my fingers with when I go out and my hands always feel so plain. I have this ONE that means a lot to me, but more and more I'm starting to feel my personality is outgrowing it. So I'm going to go and buy not one, but TWO rings for me today and that shall be my reward for being so good. Today marks my 14th day of Induction!

I know I've been complaining about my weight not going down. So get this--yesterday, it was UP 5 lbs and today it is down 5 lbs. I mentioned before, and I think I'm right- that I think with my birth control shot being due (it always causes spotting, cramping, bloating) this week and Induction and newly beginning to incorporate exercise, my body is just in flux and I simply will not be able to go by the scale. I know this is a lesson many of you have learned by now, but sometimes it takes more than a few times to get it through your head that, as frequently said here, the scale is NOT your friend! Haha. I'm jsut very, very glad I took my measurements last week.

So, I'm off to go buy my shoes and my rings (maybe even a new nailpolish!) and I'll take my time and just do some girl shopping by myself. I made most of this week's snacks and whatnot yesterday, so I'm all set in that department and I can just chill today. Maybe I'll finally pick up my guitar, it's been 3 months! You know how it is when you fall in love, you let some things fall by the wayside.

      Y'all be good now, y'hear?!

        Re: Sunday Check in

        Hi everybody:

I was in class all day Saturday and Sunday, so I'm just checking in real quick. I'm taking a 52 hour course to become licensed to sell life insurance and annuities.

I did ok with my eating, not completely on plan, but not too bad. I did, however, finish my Sunday on plan with italian sausage, a little bit of marinara sauce and parmesan cheese.

I'm still battling my cold, but it's finally getting better. I had to keep a big supply of cough drops with me during class. I was constantly coughing.

I'll see you all on Monday!
