Good job reading the book! It's very inspiring!

I lost 2 lbs last week for a total of 7.5. I am very happy and feeling so good! I am adding an extra veggie this week so I am officially on OWL Rung 1!

Yes, I read the book last night to give me some more extra pull towards the goal. I haven't lost one single pound in the last two weeks. The scale has been jumping up five pounds and down five pounds though, so I know something's going on. The scale is out to get me, the evil little thing. I shall throw it in the snow and let it freeze and THEN I bet it'll give me the numbers I wanna see. Ya, I can hear it in the bathroom now, shakin in it's boots.

            Re: Hows everyone doing?

Hi everyone, just checking in. I have had one of those mornings where you just want to give up. Im battling this chest cold that had me up at 4am and have been up since, on top of that i got a sore throat, then getting my kids off to school the battery in my car had died, so what a day so far, i did get to the doctors office to find out that my husbands insurance plan that we switched to has a 300 dollar deductible so i had to pay the full amount to be seen, and he put me on an antibiotic, my blood pressure was up which i went today to get my meds have been off of them for a couple of days and found out there is a 50 dollar deductible for my meds, i was like i cant win for anything, but the one thing that counts is I DID NOT GIVE UP!!!! Actually the only thing im having a problem with is drinking my water because of my throat being sore but im on plan and i have moved on into owl even though i dont think i will get that extra veggie today just not feeling to hot right now and food is the last thing on my mind. Well im off to rest up im a little tired due to lack of sleep from this chest cold. I will check in later!!!!

Staying on plan when I'm sick is the hardest. When I was a kid, the only time I was allowed to eat junk food was when I was sick, so it's a reallllly hard habit to break. I was only sick a few times as a kid, but still!

                Re: Hows everyone doing?

Lisa--you know when I can't win for nothing and want to give in (GOOD JOB on not giving in!!), I have this little thought that always seems to enter mind mind. It is that when this, that and the other is all screwed up, I don't want to add to the pile by making myself feel fat for diving into the Ben and Jerry's! So that thought usually keeps me motivated. And there is something else I have discovered. Nothing makes you feel worse--I mean nothing makes me feel worse than when I feel fat because I'm eating improperly. I seem to be able to find a way to level out feeling duped with expenses or the everyday life things like a pipe bursting or my car breaking down. But when I feel I am swollen and puffy and large and eating like a hog, I just plain ole feel like poop about myself and about my body. No other problem makes me feel that way.

                You're doing great!

                  Re: Hows everyone doing?

Lisa - I'm SO proud of you for not giving in!!!! I agree that being sick is the toughest. I just want some Saltines when I don't feel well. But my mom used to make me soft-boiled eggs when I felt bad so I try to do that instead.

You'll get right back on track with the water - I know you will! I have had a hard time with that the last few days too (and the exercise - it's so cold and I want to stay in!).

I agree with other posters that you don't want to feel icky ON TOP of everything else. It's when I am stressed that I KNOW I have to take really good care of myself.
