So, I was holding off on sharing this with y'all because it's one of those things I just wanted to do and then talk about. I've been trying to get licensed as a cosmetologist for months now. Loooooong story but I went to school ages ago and the state lost my paperwork! I finally was cleared to take my first test (there are two to become licensed, one is the practical hands on exam and other is the written exam). I took it and failed the first time like most people seem to do. $40.00 down the drain. Then I went back to retake it and didn't have all the right materials and couldn't even walk into the test site because I would have been disqualified right away. Lost another $40.00.
Now, it's difficult to deal with this practical exam because you have to bring everything but the kitchen sink with you to complete the exam. You kit must be labeled, marked, sealed, sainitized, perfectly stocked in the manner as requested and the directions are shady at best. Dealing with my kit trying to figure out how to pass this test after having gone to school seven years ago, trekking 20 miles away in ucky Denver traffic in the freezing weather...It's been basically three months of stress about it. So what I didn't share with y'all was that I had my second test scheduled this morning.....
AND I PASSED!!! YIPEE!!! i cannot express how much of a relief it is to now only have to worry about the easy multiple choice part of the licensing process!! I'm over the hum and praise all that is holy, I don't have to think about that dang kit one more day.
So I came home and decided to reward myself with a nice, extra large pizza with everything on it, a liter of coke, and of course the Cheesecake Ben and Jerry's ice cream!
JUST KIDDING. Haha, got you there!
I came home and a girlfriend came over and together we ate the leftover chicken broccoli alfredo (Thanks to julirama for the idea! it was AWESOME!) and drank herbal tea. And I feel even more on top of the world.
But I must admit: Driving home from the test facility, over the moon about passing the test, I could tell very much I was fighting my natural reaction to reward myself with the above mentioned BAD meal! Man, it never ceases to surprise me how much food addiction played a role in my past behavior. How silly, to allow yourself to be led by food! It's just fuel to keep my body working and healthy for a long life.
So I just wanted to check in and let you know I'm having a great day and I'm just going to say: I earned it, and I deserve it! Yay for me.
Don't you just love awesome days like this? If they weren't so few and far between, I don't think we'd be able to feel the elation that we do.
There it is, my great day. I'm going now to work out with my new workout clothes and brand spankin' new awesome can't wait to try 'em running shoes!
Have a good one!

Good for you for not giving into the temptation to eat as a reward!
