Okay. Today is February 1st, 2007. Jess mentioned the importance of setting goals and challenges each month and I have put some thought into mine. And here they are.
1. The scale will be removed from my bathroom starting today and my boyfriend is going to take it to his office for the month of February. So I'm taking a No weigh challenge in February! Ugh, this thought is somehow more terrifying to me than anything! lol...
2. I will begin my weight training this month at the gym. In Janurary, my goal was just to walk into the gym for at least 30 minutes and do cardio. Now that I've faced the fear of the gym and am doing an hour each time I go, it's time to face the weight room! I will work mainly on my upper body toning my arms and stomach.
3. On days when I can't make it to the gym, I will do my home Pilates for at least 20 minutes.
4. My challenge this month is that both my birthday and Valentines day are within 6 days of each other. We are going on a double date with our married friends and we have reservations at our favorite Indian food restaurant. I will eliminate the rice. I will allow myself some vegetable pakoras (deep fried vegetables, my favorite appetizer of all time) and no more than two pieces of the flat bread (instead of my usual 4 or 5). No white sugary russian, just a diet coke. For my birthday after that, my BF gave ourselves that as pizza night.
My real challenge in eating properly is being able to have the nights like Valentin'es and Birthdays and whatnot and enjoy some of the things I truly love WITHOUT passing it over into the next day. I know how to eat low carb. I just need to learn how to do it for life. In order to do that, I must learn to control myself by setting a time when I can allow some loosening up of the rules knowing that they are certainly temporary and that it doesn't mean BINGE! This is the hardest thing for me to conquer. Typically I allow myself one occasion a month where I can allow a little pizza or whatnot. I made it through three weeks of Induction and I think it would be cowardly for me to stay on it forever. I simply MUST learn CONTROL.
So there are my goals and challenges this month. I know you guys will hold me to it!
Are you making goals this month, too? Let's hear them!
