    Hello Peeps!

Well, the good BF took the scale from the bathroom and took it to work with him, and thusly begins my February no weigh challenge. It's a strangely hollow feeling in that bathroom. Akin to the feeling of a comforting clock ticking away on a wall for years that is suddenly gone. My feet are lonely for the ridgy feel of the scale beneath them, and it's only been gone for an hour. Ahhh, that dreadfull little scale. Soooo close yet so far away. Oh well, on to other things!

I'm going to do some arm and ab work at home with my Pilates DVD before I head off to work this morning since I won't be able to hit the gym today. I can't go after work, it's too crowded (I go to a tiny rec center until the new gym opens up down the street) and stand around stretching waiting to get on one of the two treadmills and it never happens.

So anyhoo....I took my measurements, I barely lost two inches total from my three weeks of Induction. I can't believe that the working out has built really that much muscle mass so I'm cutting down on portions for awhile. I am losing weight, I can feel it. It's just the scale and the tape measure aren't reflecting it as much as my clothes are. I need to lose weight a little faster because I have some cute summer outfits I'm fantasizing about. So I'll just be cutting out extra carbs I don't need when I can AND I am going to drink water with every meal instead of tea or anything else. I want to be pleasantly surprised come March! Losing ten pounds of fat in one month is A LOT of work and exercise, not just a ho hum every day low carb thing. I'm really going to have to hit some gas this month to make that a reality. So heeeeere we go, February!

I wish everyone a great month and a good day!

    Take care!

    Hi pigs!

Yes, this journey is full of hard work and dedication. And the weight comes off, the plan works, but I don't dare say it's easy!

I was telling a co-worker about Atkins yesterday. She had asked me about it before and asked me if I was still "on it." I replied yep you betcha, this is a lifelong change...this is how I'm going to eat for the rest of my life. She said that I've been very successful on it, obviously, to which I replied "Yes I have--I've lost 60 pounds since mid-August!" She just couldn't fathom that and asked what I ate--low fat cheese? crackers? lean meat? It's so funny trying to explain to someone on Weight Watchers that fat is my FRIEND.

So the journey continues. I'm feeling good today, full of energy, ready to go to the gym after work.

I hope everyone has a great Friday!!!

        Hey Pigs,

Remember the measuring tape doesn't tell the whole story just like the scale. You can't measure every bit of you body but you said your clothes are telling the story.

Remember muscle weighs more than fat and 1 pound of muscle burns 50 calories a day. That's why our men, with more natural muscle mass, lose faster than us.

Hang in there. Seems like you are doing great to me.

Thanks Karyn! I think I needed some words of encouragement just now after getting home and banging my head all afternoon because there's a new company "policy" at the center.....from now on, every day, we will bake fresh home made bread in our breadmakers in each program room to make the place feel more "homey".

These people just never give it a rest, lol!
          I will be strong, I will be strong, I will be strong....I will...not......give...into.....delicious aroma......arrrrrrrrgh!!!

Also funny little side note: Coworker number one offered me a slice of the bread. Coworker two (who knows me better) said, "uh uh, she doesn't eat bread!"
Coworker one responds by rolling her eyes and saying, "Bread is good for you, give me a break!"
Ya. Ahhhh, the humor the ignorant can sometimes impart.

            Re: Checking in 2/2

Hi just checkin in on this friday night, well my day today was good, i went out to dinner with my dad and stepmom out at ruby tuesdays and i was trying to decide what i want and i was thinking of a hamburger without the bread and my dad was just eat the hamburger one meal wont hurt but im thinking to myself that is why im here where im at because of that same thinking, so i remembered the last time i ate there they had a eat smart menu that shows net carbs on it and i ended up ordering a chicken breast, mashed cauliflower which i have to say was way better than mine i need to know what they use and steamed broccoli so i did it i did not cave in when it would have been so easy but you know what i dont want to either, i feel good about myself and i know that one bite or meal will make me wake up in the morning with nothing but guilt and that will more than likely send me into a binge and i do not want that!!! Other than that dont have to much more to report, oh yeah im kind of proud of myself it usuallly takes me about 17 and a half minutes to walk a mile well i have been pushing myself at the gym and it took me 16.40 almost a whole minute less but i was wore out but i felt good at the same time, i am aiming for 15 minutes but that one will probally take awhile lol. well i hope you all have a great weekend!!!
