    First day today:

    I had the wife help me with the tape measure test today. I used the body fat monitor on FitTogether.com and got two different results. My BMI is HORRIBLE : 39.49 but the fat to lean ratio is not horrible? 23.94%

    I am a big ape man so this is not really "new" to me. I always have had trouble fitting into the "fit" standard numbers for "normal" humans.

    Total Weight: 308.00lbs Lean Body Mass: 234.28 lbs Fat Mass: 73.72 lbs
    Here is the embarrassing tale of the tape:


    Age 45years Abdomen 53.00in Sex Male Hips 52.00in Activity Level Active Thigh 25.00in Weight 308.00lbs Knee 17.00in Height 74.00in Calf 17.00in Neck 19.50in Ankle 10.50in Shoulders 53.50in Arm 14.25in Chest 50.00in Forearm 11.25in Waist 49.50in Wrist 7.50in
    My BMI is 39.94 (severly obese)

    My hip to waist ratio is 0.95 (between moderate and high risk.)

    I'll retest all of the numbers on or around the end of induction and see what if anything has changed..
    Starting weight: 310 Current weight: 292 Goal weight: 220

    Hey Fozzy welcome to STAC, I am sooo glad to see you took your measurements, YOU are really going to see improve ment in those numbers as you begin to melt away...pop in and keep us posted and we are here for you!

      Yes, I wish I had measured myself when I restarted instead of waiting a couple of weeks. Congratulations for your first day coming on and let the weight loss begin!

        There were a few things I did and am doing now that I did NOT do before. On my first time on Atkins, I NEVER once measured myself and I really didn't do any real cardio type of exercise. I had a really physical job so I guess that really made it work well for me. I'm going to the gym 3-5 times a week and hopefully keeping real track of things will make this really something to keep doing and not be easily talked out of.
