Hey STACers...wow am I having a great morning...Read some great stuff about discipline this morning, and i loved it because I have finally established some good self disciplines...just doing them over and over and over until they become a habit...that of course does take time and determination....then of course you have to keep it up all the time........

this morning I went to the treadmill in the clubhouse, it was a rush, because I leave for school shortly, I wanted to jog 2 miles...got there and the lights wouldn't work, so I got on the treadmill in the dark...and then the ipod's battery was dead, so i was now alone inthe dark with no entertainment to make things speed along....GREAT!!!!
My discipline, and ability to keep the upper hand on myself WON OUT and I cover the 2miles and feel fantastic....

Then, I decided to get dressed for school, and I wanted to try on my daughter's size 12 jeans, that are straightlegged and she doesn't like them due to where the waistband rests...
AAAAHHHHHHHHH HAAAAa,,,,,, THEY FIT SNUG AND I AM WEAR EM TODAY...
Everybody, all the days you work hard, and days where you just hang on and just survive, you are CHANGING, AND YOUR BODY IS CHANGING.
No MATTER what you see on the scale, or sense on your body today, DON"T QUIT. No matter how tired or hungry or outta wack you might be, DON'T QUIT... I have gotten a bizillion comments on my new pictures, and so many people stopping me at school and church wanting to know my secret!!!!
It's simple, STAY FOCUSED, DON'T QUIT, FOLLOW THROUGH ON YOUR PLAN TODAY, REGARDLESS OF YOUR FEELINGS...

Jess, that truly IS dedication. Great job, and I can tell it really makes you proud of yourself. Self Esteem is very important and how much do you think exercising in the dark with no music added to your self esteem? How much do those straight legged 12's add to your self esteem today?

    That's awesome.

As for me, I'm back down to 193 today. I've still taken ibuprofen daily...and have a headache again today. There must be something in bloom here..mold or something. The culprit must have been wheat. I wrote in my journal this morning that I certainly don't NEED wheat or wheat products, especially when it has such an impact.

Jess, not only is that DEDICATION, it's COORDINATION. I would have fallen off the darn thing in the dark!

Joy, congrats on 193! Bad wheat, bad wheat!

Well, today I'm feeling kind of icky. Muscle aches, headache, and I feel kind of waterlogged. I *did* drink almost 2 gallons of water yesterday, and I made some "fried" chicken that was REALLY salty. I decided to add Montreal steak seasoning to the soy flour (because I like the taste of it on grilled foods) but it was like eating a salt lick. So I think that's the cause of all my maladies. So I'm drinking lots of water today, and avoiding salt like the plague. I plan on running a 5K tonight to see what my time is, though I doubt it will improve, as I haven't run a 5K in almost a week. Oh well, exercise is exercise!

      Have a great day, STACers!

        Re: check in 2/8/07

lol, Jess. I can just imagine going inthe dark with no entertainment on the treadmill. I always like finishing up my two miles even though I didn't feel good/had a headache/didn't have time to work out/the power was off/my ipod wasn't working, etc....it makes you realize exactly how much excuses hold you back! Size 12...so close yet soooo far away!

I'm back into my 14's now, but I can only wear my stretchy ones (GOD BLESS the stretchy jeans)....I am in my February no weigh challenge and I'm not measuring myself either. It will be interesting to see how it turns out at the end. I'm not drinking nearly enough water, I know that for a fact. I try, but...I'm afraid my job just doesn't permit me going to the bathroom twice an hour. But that's all changing soon.

Just an average day for me. Last night I was tempted kind of hardcore at My Brother's Bar here in Denver. We went for drinks and dinner. I considered a rum and diet coke, but knew that while your bodyis processing booze, it's not burning fat and I had some good workouts that left me sore and I wanted to keep up with it. But I did have a diet coke and a big glass of water, a bunless burger with bacon on it and a small dinner salad. My low carbing boyfriend, who is basically already at his goal, had a regular cheeseburger- sans fries, of course. His first cheat in a month. But he's the man of steel when it comes to resisting temptation foods so he basically has no worries. Boy did I want some of their legendary onion rings. But I witheld, as usual . Just a few more days and I can have a small allowance.
I was reminded last night of the importance of making sure that I go to places that use actual hamburger patties instead of compressed ones. After I took off the bun, I was left with this rinky dink little piece of meat with cheese and tiny stips of bacon on it. Should have got the double. So I just ate SUPER SLOW.

Joy: you sound just like a friend of mine who struggled with headaches and whatnot all the time having to do with whenever she ate wheat. I don't know what you ate, most foods with gluten in them are not things you'd eat anyway, but is it possible you ate something with gluten in it and that you have gluten intolerance? It's a pretty serious thing that so easily gets overlooked by people and misdiagnosed by doctors. My friend was moody, depressed, headachey, and had gained about 30 lbs (she was very young and only a couple of years out of high school). She also had bad gas and bowel problems. Finally she was diagnosed with gluten intolerance (it's also known as Celiac's Disease) and boy, has her life changed. That 30 lbs rolled right off of her and she's happy and healthy for the first time in years. I know that gluten is found in spices sometimes and certain beverages. Mostly it's in breads and stuff, but I'm sure it could make it's way into your diet even if you're low carbing. maybe that helps...?

        Have a good day everyone!

          Re: check in 2/8/07

Hi everyone, just checking in, im having such a rough week here, not sure what is going on, i felt so determined and strong just a week ago, i know that it is almost tom but i still have about a week but man my cravings and the want to eat is driving me crazy, im thinking of doing a very strict induction and cutting down on cheese, and processed meats, the only processed meats i eat is sausage in the morning and i love cheese maybe im getting sloppy here and need to sit back and focus more. I know when i did atkins i pretty much stalled out and had to tweak my diet and those are the two things i gave up completely and also heavy cream so pretty much i was eating really simple, i did not make mock anything, i ate my veggies either roasted or steamed and i ate meat and eggs, but i ate a good bit of veggies more then than i am now and i was losing but i got bored so i wanted to see if i could do it the regular way this time around and enjoy those foods because i love to make dishes out veggies that are creamy from time to time not everyday but at times i want something different than just plain veggies but i think it is hendering me and i really need to focus here because i want to lose so bad and be more healthy for my kids that what im doing might not be working, i lost 13lbs in induction which i stayed on 3 weeks but since moving into owl i really have been stuck and i think that is what is bothering me as well, i think i need to cut out certain foods and keep those veggies and see what happens. I told my husband this morning that next week im going to rev up my excercise program, my goal is to be able to jog 1 mile without stopping and i cant even jog 1 minute without feeling out of breath so i have my work cut out for me, so every day me and him are going to walk a mile and work on our speed, and then in the evenings i will go to the gym with my friend who is planning on joining next week and do 3 more miles either by the elliptical, treadmill, or bike and then on some mornings when my husband works i will go to the gym before i pick him up since we are down to one car that is what i have been doing i go workout after i get the kids to school and before i pick him up because i have like an hour to spare so those days i will get 3 mini workouts in because i would work out before i get to him and then do a mile with him and then go and do my hard workout in the evening with my friend, and this would only happen about 2-3 times a week and the other days i will just have those 2 workouts instead of 3, i know that sounds like a lot but really during the day im at home and i could be doing more and i need to do more because i need to see some results here. Ok im done rambling just having some issues here and needed to get that all of my chest.

            Hi everyone!

Jess, you are such an inspiration!

I have to say I'm a little jelous of you all who are exercising. I love to run but on induction I just have no spark in my engine. I'm hoping that it's the low carbs and when I add a few back on OWL I'll get the umph I need. Today I bought a jump rope, which is my 8yo DD favorite activity these days, thinking she and I could do it together and mabe get my mind off my heavy legs. Funny thing is I feel so energetic and euphoric otherwise.

Got on the scale this morning and 1 more pound down!! Better than that my tight jeans are loose!!!! YIPEE!!

I'm embarking on a career change and got a call that a seminar class I've been looking forward to was cancelled. For some reason I really let it get me down. Then I reminded myself that all things happen for a reason, I have other avenues to try that may actually work out better for me. After all, this class was going to be three weekends away from my family inclucing Friday nights. Now I can find something more accomodating.

Ok, now I'm running off at the fingers. LOL Have a great day everyone!!!

Hey Pugs, you should be coming into the energy and ketosis...day 4 usually puts me there...but the exercise, takes a while to get into, especially if you are use to real running and high expenditure of energy...I know about having to go slow....Hey things are gonna look up!!!! Every day is a day farther down the road with atkins.

Just wanted to say hey, I'm doing fine with everything myself, excepting for a rocking head cold. But because I quit smoking (one week today!!!) I don't have the accompanying wicked cough that I used to get. And exercise? Forget it, I came home last night and was sleeping by 8:30, I haven't done that in years. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. And it stinks when you have a high temp of 15. BOOOO!!!
