  • Ckeck in 2-13

Haven't seen a "check in" for a couple of days so I thought I'd start the thread.

I'm in a mood due to TOM starting any day now. Although, I've noticed some changes since beginning this WOE again that I hope means evened out hormones and hopefully an easier time of it. I had some dark spots on my face that I know are due to hormones that are fading, A LOT! That has me very happy.

I've decided to extend induction for another week due to TOM and more importantly for hubby who feels his first week on induction doesn't count as he found sugar in some of the items he reguaraly ate before this WOE and consumed during week one. We are in this together and will move forward together. Just seems easier that way.

So, that's what's up with me. How about you??

Karyn, thanks for starting the thread!

I'm doing well today! I know I'm retaining water from yesterday's workout, but even so, I put on pants this a.m. that are incredibly loose--2 weeks ago they were snug. Little things like that just make my day. Tonight is my rest night, no exercise, and I'm going to do nothing and enjoy it.

I am doing great! Worked out this morning, it was hard...not my best day on the treadmill. Posted here, just in a thoughtful way....planning on settling down and in today. I just brought my Mom home from the nursing home, where she was recovering since Christmas and the fractured pelvis...I feel incredibly blessed and grateful today. I can hear her down stairs just singing sweetly to her little doggie. It's a sweet sound, much sweeter and much better than I ever thought it would be again

I am going to extend induction another week too. I haven't been able to get through a *clean* 2 weeks and the scales and my clothes show it too.

I am just so depressed over this weight & I can't get out of my yucky mood.

Oh, Jess! How wonderful for you; I am so envious. My Mom broked her pelvic bone is 4 places in 2002 and I took care of her for over a year while she recovered. She passed away on January 1, 2005, and I miss her terribly every day. Gotta tape recorder? Record your mom singing! I play some of our family videos back occasionally and it's so great just to still be able to hear Mom's voice.

            Hugs to you,
            Deb

Deb, great idea...believe it or not, my mom has recently been diagnosised with a rheumatoid condition that robbed her ability to speak clearly and move food, and she is just now getting her speech back, and this inflammatory disease really really messed up her tongue and jaws...weird..
I can't understand her, but should she get to the point where she is clear again, i will certainly do exactly that...
We are very lucky...She was close to "failing to thrive" and getting a feeding tube, but that shook her up, and she started cooperating with eating and drinking again...

Girl, I want to encourage you what a huge step you have made in the right direction...I know your weight is bothering you, but just think it's a new day, a new page in your life...I am reinventing myself and my habits. I started in August. Every day is a chance to make new habits stick...use that energy and mental outlook to see what great step you have made, and find ways to support your consistency. I am in your corner cheering you on...We're gonna be 50, and there is NO REASON why we can't really be on the way to the best year of our lives. At least that's how I think. When that day arrives, and it's one of my big dates this year Deb, I am gonna be so HAPPY with MYSELF, not for where I let myself to go, but FOR WHERE I HAVE NOW GONE TO WITH MY BODY AND LIFESTYLE...MY GLASS IS SOOO MORE THAN HALF WAY FULL...IT'S 4/5THS FULL, BABY!
Every day the routines will get stronger the clothes will get baggier and you will feel better...every day your smile and success will get brighter! Soon you will be on top of the world....

I'm doing ok today. Made myself workout today even though I didn't feel like it. Eating has been good, but I really need to cut back on the cream in my coffee and on the coffee itself.

zencyn, good on you for exercising when you don't feel like it....boy have I been there myself...but we just have to do it...another thing nobody likes is drinking all the water they have to drink...We just have to knuckle down and get it done... Dr. Atkins says "Exercise is non-negotiable"....It releases endorphines and they make my day!
Hang in there girl, it does get easier, and it makes such a difference.

                    Re: Ckeck in 2-13

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been around in a few days. I have been sick. I mean, REALLY sick. I guess the flu. I tried as hard as I could to stay on track but I finally had to give in and have a piece of toast but it was 100% whole wheat and I put peanut butter on it for a little fat. I'm trying to stick to chicken broth and eggs but it's just been hard. My stomach can't take much. I actually had that bread yesterday and so far today, I've been ok with Atkins-friendly foods again. I noticed that I was pretty hungry after eating a piece of bread so I don't miss that AT ALL and I am back on track, even though I am still feeling pretty bad.

Just wanted to let you all know I am still alive! I've just been on the couch for the last few days.

Ha ha! Thanks! I am not having problems getting back on track so far. I think I just feel so much better when I eat the right things. Not using being sick as an excuse.
