  • A ladies question about a stall

Ok, it's that TOM for me and I haven't lost but a pound in the past week in a half. Can we women stall just before and during TOM? I'm bummed

    Thanks

oh god yeah. PMS doesn't go away, you'll retain water before/during tom and gain weight just like any other month without atkins. If you've stayed the same, then chances are you'll drop once your body lets go of that water though. Be happy you didn't gain (which goes away too, but still!)... :P

Thanks for the reply, Kincknack. I will be glad I didn't gain. I'm feeling blah anyway and the no weight loss just hasn't helped.

I'm trying to focus on the fact I'm wearing clothes I wouldn't have dreamed of leaving the house in 4 weeks ago.

Thanks again. I'm feeling a bit better about things.

yep, you should be dancing a dance of joy that you didn't gain any water weight during TOM! I know for me pre-atkins I'd gain almost 5 pounds and on atkins i'll either gain one or two or stay the same. When I think 5 vs 0-2, I'm like woohoo!

My advice: don't weigh yourself before/during TOM. You're already vulnerable because of the stupid hormones, so no need to give yourself ammunition to feel worse, you know?

I gain during TOM--I retain water like mad. Don't even bother weighing during TOM, unless you're a masochist! Keep drinking your water, avoid salty foods, and get your exercise in. The water weight will disappear.

It's not technically a stall--a stall is a 4-week period with no pounds or inches lost.

Pugs, I can feel it in my clothes....I do what I did then, "just tell your self" this won't last long! It's temporary! With water, what goes up will come down"...Dance around in your clothes, THEY ARE TELLING YOU THE TRUTH....the scale is telling you a form of truth, but what goes up will come down! Your body is going to go thru alot of little ups and downs, and if you watch that scale it will drive you mad...Keep trying on the clothes you want to get back into, keep measuring once a week or so, because the measuring tape will reflect fat loss....which is why we do what we do, to looose our FAT!
