  • Something new I tried

So yesterday I decided to make a roast in the cronkpot. I added carrots to it for DH and then as an after thought, I cut up a fresh head of cauliflower and added that. Oh My! It was good!!!! I mashed it up on my plate and sprinkled a little au jus on it and it was divine! Just thought I would share my 'new idea'

I use to really dislike cooked cauliflower, but it is really growing on me.

What items are you beginning to like?

I love Cauliflower and absolutely love making them into fake mashed potatos. You should try that, you'll probably love it, too.

The big thing I've discovered that I like is Jicama. It's on the Induction foods list as acceptable vegetables. I'd never heard of it before and didn't even know how to pronounce it (it's "yi-ka-ma" just FYI). It has a very sweet taste to it. I have often described it as eating sweet dirt. Kind of taste like a turnip, I hear--although I've never had one.

Another things I've recently discovered as an alternative to the usual cheeses is a good smoked Gouda. never really had it a lot before, but boy are they delish with smoked almonds!

I love turnips now as a child I hated them.
I too love anything cooked in the crock pot
