  • Back yet again,

Hi everyone.. I tried Atkins in 2004 and it worked great for me.. it is now 2007 and I seriously need a kick start to loose weight. I plan on doing Atkins introduction for 2 months straight minimum. Today is exactly 2 months to my 23rd Birthday and all I want is to loose weight, be happy and healthy.

I set 35lbs for 2 months.. not sure how realistic this is? Has anyone else achieved this much weight loss? I have lost 10lbs a week to and 14lbs in 3 weeks before.. Anyways all I can do is try..

    Re: Back yet again,

Hey, we are close to the same start weight. I just re-started Atkins also. Good luck to you, but don't get disappointed if you don't lose that 35lbs. in 2 months. That's what happened to me before because the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time around you are not going to lose as much weight as you did the first time. Of course, depending on how strictly you stay to the diet will help also.

      Re: Back yet again,

      Welcome to the board,

Great to have you. I think the answer is it is all up to you. How hard you want to work, exercise, eat, that's a pretty high goal, but as I've found around here, anything is possible if you set your mind to it!

Good Luck and keep us posted on your success!

        Re: Back yet again,

        Hey Star! Welcome back....
I think it's great that you have set a big goal for yourself that is what you want with all your heart! I know too that when it comes to numbers and weightloss you will definately get weightloss, but it's the ONE THING you really can't control. Asking your body to shed alot in a short time is asking alot...just keep that in mind.
I would encourage you to shoot for the higher goal, LIFESTYLE...Eating low carb at induction level is something I have done alot of. I have also done a modifed version where I've added in 5gm things every other day.
If you just do induction and then reach your birthday and you are not there completely at goal, what will you do then? Keep in mind Atkins is a 4 phase plan. We need to learn to handle ourselves and reintroduce foods and maintain what we have lost and the lifestlye we have gained...
Think lifestyle and you will keep off what you have lost! You are gonna have a fantastic birthday present, YOU!!!!!

I also think it's great your reaching for the stars with a big goal. I strongly encourage you to keep a level head about it, like Jess said, and keep in mind it should be a life goal for you as well. Personally, I don't think it's possible for me to ever lose 35 lbs in that time period. I'm doing well if I lose 5 lbs a month. And yes, second time around is much different than the first. The weight does come off and you can do your best to make it happen as fast as possible...Just be prepared to handle it okay if the scales move slower. Have faith in the science. And if you do roll of 35 lbs that quick, then you'll be my hero .
