  • Monday 2/26 Check in

    Hey everybody how ya doing???
Its Monday. I keep thinking about the lifestyle I am creating. Are you creating a lifestyle to support your weightloss or are you just loosing weight...

Is this a momentary diet or are you thinking long term?

Are you doing everything you can today, JUST for tomorrow?

Are you thinking a balanced lifestyle to support you into the future.

Are your sights on something small like a number on the scale, or energy and health to cause you to live a great life, everyday?

Are you in a hurry, manipulating all you can, to have everything you can right around the corner? Or are you thinking about habits and patterns that can sustain you long term.

Will you be back to STAC down the road??? Or will you just settle down and stay, because you have created a lifestyle that sustains you and it included being a part of this community.

I want to be here in a year, but mostly I want to have built habits that sustain me in each day. Habits with food, water and exercise. Habits of coming here and giving and receiving. Habits of focusing on a great life.

    What do you want?

    Gooooooooood Morning Jess!

You give the best early morning pep talks and time to reflect.

Myself (I just lost another 4 pounds, thank you) I want this to be a way of life. I want to be around for years to come.

I do not want to bounce around and keep coming back to STAC because I binge or cheat here and there, I want to be of the mindset that I DO NOT NEED SUGAR and FLOUR, I need to concentrate on only wholesome good natural foods.

The water has been so cleansing. My energy has doubled, I really had forgotten the benefits of living like this. It's like a drug, and my drug of choice...LIFE!!

Just thought I'd add a couple of my own reflections!

    Next?

      Re: Monday 2/26 Check in

I'm in this for the long haul.

Yesterday I added whole grains. I had 2 LC tortillas for dinner (we had enchiladas) and no ill effects thus far! I still have lots of whole grain foods to add and try out, but I'm proud of myself for moving up all of the rungs, and doing it by the book. I feel like I've finally taken full control and responsibility for what I'm eating and how I'm living.

So I'm feeling good today (apart from a head cold) and looking forward to a great Monday!

        Hey All,

Great motivational post Jess. A great reminder that this wol isn't a temporary fix, but a lifestyle change! I love it!

So, what is different this time around? Where I visualize myself at the end...Or the beginning of my new healthy life! I do not want to re-induct one more time. I want to continue to thrive on how good it feels to say "no thank you." I have discovered the joy in not treating each meal like my last, but just a short stop on this new path to sustaining a healthy life...Eating to live, I like to call it, instead of the other way around!

        Hugs,
        Kristi

Well, It's been a few months since I've actually posted. But, I've been around.

It always seems right when I have having thoughts of going down the wrong road, Jess always says something inspiring.

Thanks, Jess. Your comments made me remember why I started doing this. And, that there are some changes I still need to make.

              Re: Monday 2/26 Check in

Welcome back Lisa. you are going to need a lot of help and encouragement and support over the next few months, so stick around .

I'm doing well. Nothing new to report, really. I redid my kitchen and it looks fabulous in there. Painted it a dark burnt yellow with dark orange accents. Not really my usual choice of color scheme, but it was the best choice for what I have to work with. And it's REALLY growing on me! It looks so warm and sunny in there and with the new floor I laid down, it really have a nice spit and polished look. I wish I'd done it years ago.

I checked my Ketosis levels yesterday for the first time all month. I was a nice dark purple color, so that's good! I haven't done very well with getting more strict with my carb levels, so I doubt I've lost much weight this month--but I"m doing that no-weigh challenge. I may extend that a couple weeks into March.

BTW, I start work as a salon apprentice this week! Let the new career begin!

              Take care!

                Re: Monday 2/26 Check in

                Hey All!

Well I have dither long enough and it’s time to plunge right back in. I went AWAL from the board when we changed our e-mail address post a move of domicile. Once reestablished, no matter what I tried I could not get the dang thing to log onto the Board. To make matters worse, I appealed to Tom (the Administrator) and kept getting a “Non-Deliverable Message”. Clearly there are no bounds to my computer ineptitude! And finally, in total frustration I threw up my hands and slunk away.

                BIG MISTAKE! YUP, POSITIVELY HUGE!

In the interim I found all those ugly pounds I lost – and to make matters worse, I could not budge them regardless of what I did. It was hopeless.

Then Lady Luck smiled and my DH came across an article about weight gain and the EVIL drug ELAVIL. I have been taking this for pain control both pre and post hip-replacement surgery and for degenerative osteoarthritis. Needless to say, I am no longer on it. BTW, the withdrawal, brutal!!!!

Lady Luck smiled again, Tom wrote asking how I liked the new Newsletter format. So here I am back on the Board and at Square One. I’m absolutely delighted to be back. Can’t say I recognize very many of the “new folks”, but lovely to see some I do recognize…..those that have prevailed and now are glowing with success.

                It looks good on you!
