  • Just bummed today

and for no good reason, really. I haven't lost anything in the last week but people are telling me I'm shrinking. I'm so close to my first goal I can taste it but it still feels elusive.

I've been trying OWL rung 1 and went from my approx. 15 grams of carbs a day to 20 grams. My keto stick was only trace today.

I'm just struggling, bored with the food, not interested in adding more cheese to my diet as cheese is a diet trap for me ( I can easily overdue with cheese). I want berries but not sure if I should jump to that rung and I need to exercise! The only time for that is early in the morning, like 4:30am) and I'm just not getting my butt of out bed.

Anyway, this is the point where I've messed up in the past. I need to change something or nothing will change for good.

Thanks for reading my ramblings. Guess I needed some whine with lunch...lol

    Hello Karyn,

No Whine! haha. You're really doing good, and soooooooooo close to goal weight. 9 pounds is really something. Have you tried some new recipes maybe. Some new veggies, fixed differently, there are so many awesome things out there that you can have. The other thing is, you do not have to do the rungs in that specific order. Skip the dairy and seeds (of course don't add new dairy or seeds) but go directly to fruits. Just be careful...5 carbs worth of berries is not really that much. 1/4 to 1/2 cup in most cases.

9 pounds...I rue for the day I get 9 pounds within goal!

Enjoy your lunch. Life is good. 9 pounds is not so bad.

The sun will come out tomorrow....haha!!

Thanks for the post, Scooter. I'm not always like this and I am very, VERY happy and thankful for the pounds gone and that I have only a few to go.

Good advise about the berries. It's strawberry season and I miss them terribly. I will proceed with caution and a smile on my face

        awesome!!!!!

you maybe getting food board, but girl you come along way already..Just try and remember what got you in trouble to begin with and thoes berries wont sound so good anymore...dont look at food as anything but fuel for your body...if you can get yourself in that mindset then it wont matter what you eat as long as your burning fat....well thats my mindset right now...
nothing taste as good as thin feels...we dont live to eat....we eat to live......

Go for the berries! I rarely eat them by themselves, but use them usually as a topping for some sort of dairy--cottage cheese, yogurt, cream cheese. But if you're avoiding cheese, just eat them with a meal, or with some heavy cream...

Boredom is one of the killers of the WOL, so don't become bored! Add new foods. It is possible to add new foods without adding carbs. Simply rotate your extra serving of foods. Keep your induction foods, and instead of having an extra rung 1 serving of veggies or an extra rung 2 serving of dairy, have your rung 4 serving of berries!

karyn, hang in there girl, it gets bumpy...think lifestyle, and I agree with Juli, and Scooter, look around at Linda's Low Carb, see if there is a reciepe there you could try...How can you sustain this way of eating, what do you need to do to move through these very typical blah's...we all get em..Is there anything you could do outside of diet in your life to pep yourself up or reinvigorate things....

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I'm out of my funk and think I'm going to add yogurt and berries, in the appropriate order, of course!

              Many thanks again!!

awww, Pugs. There's nothing you can do but keep plugging away. When I feel the way you are, I try a new recipe. I found a recipe for goat cheese and raisin and pine nut stuffed red pepper slices today. I am going to make my own version of it, though. We're going to have basil and thyme goat cheese and walnut stuffed red peppers wedges. Raisins are full of carbs and sugar, although I bet they'd be gooood in there. Try a new recipe tonight, get yourself out of the rut! You're sooooo close to that goal!

                  Hello Felicia,

I'd really like to know how that recipe turns out. Please share if you don't mind! It never ceases to amaze me the things everybody comes up with. That sounds really really good. I forgot about stuffed peppers.
