So I got into these jalapeno cream cheese bite things. You stuff jalapenos with cream cheese and cheddar and some bacon (diced in the cheese is my favorite way to go). I knew I didn't know exactly how many carbs were in a jalapeno, and my boyfriend said hardly any from what he heard, so we eat them like candy. I go to the store today and read the label on the cream cheese I've been buying (store brand). 2 carbs per 2 tablespoons. 2 carbs of sugar. WHAT?? I had no idea cream cheese was like that! That's one carb of sugar per tablespoon of cream cheese. I'd say I stuff 1-2 tablespoons of cream cheese in my jalapeno bites maybe sometimes more in the larger peppers. And I was eating them like popcorn! Now I decide to look up the carb count for sure on jalapenos. Almost three carbs each, plus almost two of THAT sugar! Add the bacon and cheddar, you've got yourself approximately what, 5 carbs or so, almost three of them sugar, per jalapeno popper? Eh? Is my logic or math wrong here?
If this is the case, I've probably gone over my CCLL by 20 carbs every single time I ate these! No wonder weight loss is so slow!
Just goes to show you, you learn something all the time about this WOE. It pays to read labels and not be too casual or make assumptions about things. Lesson learned!
