    Morning ya'll!

    Scooter here, today was weigh day, blam................3 more pounds! And as an added bonus, OWL. Ahhhhh tonight, and extra cup of veggies....my wife made me an acorn squash last night, brushed with butter, a splash of cinnamon, and a tiny touch of the Brown Sugar substitute.........man it was almost a dessert! I love to cook, but sometimes, the wife surprises me, I came home from my gig, she made 2 meatloafs, once using my recipe, and 1 for her and my stepson. It was gooooooood. She said, I hope you didn't mind, I added a teaspoon of Basil to your recipe. What a difference it made...I love spices, and yes I counted the carbs! Woo Hoo......I can't wait to get outside and walk or ride the bike again. Spring can not get here fast enough....2 more pesky holiday pounds to go too! Maybe next monday....

        Welcome to OWL - you've done great so far!

        But isn't acorn squash a winter squash, and therefore a starchy vegetable, which is a much later rung than Rung 1? According to fitday, 1 cup raw would have 12g net carbs.

        The summer squash like zucchini and yellow are the lower carb squash.

          Funny you should mention that. You know, pefect induction, yada yada, first day on OWL I blow it. Haha! Yes, Joy VALIDROGUE set me straight. You know, there is a reason for reading isn't there. I should have done as Julirama suggested and entered my numbers into Fitday before I ate and the little bell would have went "DING - Moron Alert Moron Alert!" We live an learn...huh?

          I have to laugh about it, otherwise I'd be mad all day. I just won't eat the other half. good news is...........







          I saved money on my car insurance...................

            Dude, you are crazy! You lost 3 more pounds, messed up your first squash and are bouncing around like tigger! I certainly enjoy your posts, and your energy is fantastic!

              Haha! Can you believe that squash thing. Go figure! Well, it was still good! I just deviated and started at rung 8, then power shifted back to rung 1. Haha!

                Oh Scooter, I had the same issue with rutabaga, except I made the added mistake of recommending it to someone in Induction...oops! It does pay to double-check your book any time you want to try a new food, and I did learn that I can safely eat rutabaga with no problem when I get to that rung. Live and learn.
