  • Made It Though Day One! (again)

    I don't know about anyone else but the first day of Atkins is definatly one of the hardest. I think its all the old habits that I did before..." oh look, a cookie! " or " Im thirsty...this Pepsi looks good " Just silly mindless things that I never really put that much thought into.
    The last time I did Atkins I went into it with an awesome attitude, yet I still fell off the wagon and that sortof bums me out a little but all I can do is go into it with the same good attitude and take it day by day. Yesterday I kinda sat in the computer room ( reading ADBB posts ) and prepped my self for all of this...I think I was really avoiding the kitchen but today Im going for my walk, Ive got a boatload of laundry to do and my room is a mess, at least im motivated!     Keep up the good work! I started today with over 30lbs to lose, I would like to lose 30 by June 15th! Keep up the good work! We can do this togeather.

      We sure can!!! I would LOVE to lose 30 by June!! I do have a goal weight in mind but if I dont quite make it and I feel good and think I look good I'm fine with that. I love love love this site!!! So supportive Oh yes and congrats on your 47 loss...was that with Atkins?

        Yes that was with atkins 2 years ago ti was great since then I have never really gotten back on track. So here I am hot and heavy, rearing to go!

          I love the goals Ladies! Excellent push for both of you! We're all here for you! Best of luck and keep us posted on the progress, oh yes,.....there will be progress. Don't forget to drink your water....lots and lots.....

            So Lacey, what's your plan? I see you talking about your plan for goal, but we have to have day to day plans too. You're here and taking control, and I want to help you take control.

              Hey there Lacey, and Princess Leah,
              Girls you are creating a ground swell of good vibes!!!! You've got me rooting for you to make it happen!
              You are going to have to build a routine that is strong and solid to take you to June. Consistency is the key, and new habits, like staying away from the kitchen, planning those walks and exercise, making sure you have snacks ready and water water water...
              Before you know it, you will have a lifestyle that you can do everyday, to take the pounds away, but then to keep the pounds away!
              You two can do it! Day one is the start of a great new life...
              Personally, I'd rather have the life style in place, the weight will take care of it's self if I have a lifestyle that keeps me on track! The weight is a sure thing to loose if I can stay on course daily...LIFESTYLE!

                My plan today was to cook and eat a healthy meals, drink as much water as I can, get my 1 1/2 miles in of walking ( which I did and let me tell you it was C-O-L-D, 9 Degrees!!! ) and just keep a postive attitude throughout the day. My goal weight is 140-145ish but like Ive said before, if I get to 175 and feel good and like the way I look then I'll be happy with that. I think too many of us set unrealistic goals so I try to stear clear of thinking about how much weight I have to lose. I get really discouraged when I sit and think, " geesh I still have 40lbs to lose..." So instead I think about how good it will feel just to lose 10lbs and how proud of myself I am that Ive made it another day. My real goals are creating a happier healthier me through this lifestyle.

                  That's a fantastic plan!

                  We can't control how much weight comes off in how many days. And sometimes it seems like the end goal is so far in the future it seems insurmountable.

                  However, you can have a plan Each and every day. If at the end of the day, you met that plan for that day, then you plan for the next day.

                    Good luck on your journey girls, its sounds like you have the motivation and determination to do it. Stick to your guns , you wont regret it.

                      Thanks!! I did set another goal...lose at least 7 lbs by next friday and Im buyin some new spring clothes from my fav store, American Eagle!!
